Seminal English goth pop/rock band The Cure announced via Twitter this morning that they will be embarking on a 25 date North American tour in 2016. Confirmed dates so far include May 22nd at the Hollywood Bowl in LA, June 10th and the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, and June 18th at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The rest of the dates will be confirmed in January. Support for the above three shows will come from The Twilight Sad.
The Cure are the band responsible for Disintegration, which many consider to be one of the greatest albums ever released. It features the tracks “Pictures of You”, “Lovesong”, and “Fascination Street”. They were also prominently featured in The Crow with their song “Burn”.
If they don’t come to the Detroit area, you bet your ass I’m driving to Chicago for this.
