With devastating events in Turkey starting the year it’s nice to be able to report something from the country which will no doubt be shocking but steeped in fiction for a change. Baskin director Can Evrenol is set to go to camera on his second feature film on Friday 6 January.
Social media for the English language movie has started teasing what is to come. A sombre silicon face and cast greet users on Instagram, while Twitter offers a profile picture reminiscent of the primitive art littering the walls during the descent to the underworld of Baskin.

Housewife was born of the Frontières co-production market Brussels edition where Screen International learned the new movie would be shot in Evrenol’s native Istanbul and continue his brand of nightmares.
‘Housewife’ is centred on Holly whose mother murdered her sister and father when she was seven. 20 years later and slowly losing her grip on the difference between reality and nightmares, she runs into a celebrity psychic who claims that he is destined to help her.
