Shane Black Says ‘The Predator’ Will Be Gory and Rated R

We’re not sure this franchise could possibly be in better hands.

I don’t know about you, but Shane Black (The Nice Guys) in the director’s chair for next year’s The Predator, which was co-written by Fred Dekker (The Monster Squad), is nothing but beautiful music to my ears. Black, who played Hawkins in the original Predator, knows and loves the franchise, and he just promised over on Twitter that he’s going to do right by us fans.

@BonafideBlack tweeted that filming begins Monday, and then added this:

And, just to be clear… PG-13 is for pussies. Spines bleed… a lot.

So there you have it. The Predator will be bloody and Rated R!

As we recently told you, it’s been rumored that the new film will feature a 10-foot-tall, genetically enhanced Predator. It’s also been rumored to be set in the suburbs.

The cast includes Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Sterling K. Brown, Keegan-Michael Key, Trevante Rhodes and Olivia Munn. Thomas Jane is rumored. Kyle Strauts will play the Predator.

Black co-wrote the script with Fred Dekker and is directing.

Twentieth Century Fox’s reboot of the sci-fi action franchise plans to film in Vancouver with a release date set for February 9th, 2018.
