Sergio G. Sanchez may be making his directorial debut with Marrowbone, but it’s certainly not his first foray into the horror world. Sanchez wrote the 2007 film The Orphanage, which is for my money one of the best horror movies released in the last 10 years. Needless to say, the pairing of Sanchez and budding horror icon Anya Taylor-Joy is enough to grab my interest.
The psychological thriller, written and directed by Sanchez, will release in Spain on October 27, 2017. The US release date hasn’t yet been announced, but you can get your first look below!
In the film…
A young man and his four younger siblings, who have kept secret the death of their beloved mother in order to remain together, are plagued by a sinister presence in the sprawling manor in which they live.
Mia Goth, George Mackay and Charlie Heaton co-star.
J.A. Bayona (The Orphanage, Jurassic World 2) executive produced.
