Episode 4 of ‘The Walking Dead: A New Frontier’ Hits April 25th

Telltale Games today on Twitter announced Episode 4 of the current season of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier will hit on April 25th. As a bonus, fans will be able to watch Episode 4’s trailer tomorrow. This current season has been on my list for a while now (yeah, I haven’t played it). The reaction however hasn’t been as positive as it has been in the previous seasons, despite Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman hinting at a crossover with the comic series. Hopefully things pick up with this new episode.

It’s interesting not playing as Clem. Especially when she’s getting even more badass. I’m not particularly giving a shit one way or the other about Javi and his family. One of the more significant losses for him just kind of made me shrug. I’m still going to play every season though. Regardless of how last-gen Telltale’s engine seems.

I definitely enjoy it, but it only arguably suffers in that, Javier’s story isn’t as compelling as Lee or Clem’s. Also we have a bunch of characters that already know each other, rather than having the discovery of having your lead meet new ones like in previous seasons.

More than anything I wished they found more reasons to link back to 400 Days and even the recent Michonne side-story.

While I am enjoying it and I appreciate the spin of playing a character that doesn’t know Clem so you have to base your judgement off of treating her a s stranger or someone that we love. The issue with this game is in the orignal game we had a lot of conversations with people, tough decisions, notacible character development based off your choices, a lot of walking around exploring on how to fix things, etc.. Season 2 lacked that some what but this one really does. They really should regroup if they make another one and go back to the original formula. Plus the episodes seem so short. In the first one they really flushed people out by having a lot of conversations that you pick an answer to. You even really cared about Charles. This one I don’t really care about anyone except Clem. There is not much of any development.

Side note: Telltale should have a Lily game. They could have used her instead of Javier. We already know her beginnings. We could have caught up on her with or without Clem showing up.
