Best Buy Getting Universal Monsters Steelbooks With Stunning Alex Ross Art

Maybe these will wash the taste of the Dark Universe out of your mouth.

If you’re a fan of comics you’re no doubt familiar with Alex Ross, who has lent his talents to countless properties under both the Marvel and DC umbrellas. Ross has drawn characters like Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman; outside the superhero world, he’s worked on comics such as Clive Barker’s Hellraiser.

Just in time for Halloween, Ross has partnered with Universal Studios on a wave of Steelbook Blu-rays that will be hitting Best Buy stores on September 12th. Seven classic Universal Monsters movies will be getting the Steelbook treatment, each featuring stunning black & white art whipped up by Ross.

The following films will be part of the collection:

  • The Wolf Man
  • The Invisible Man
  • Creature from the Black Lagoon
  • The Mummy
  • Dracula
  • Bride of Frankenstein
  • Frankenstein

I just bought them on Blu-Ray in April! I just need to comfort myself by remembering I got mine for $30 AND got the 1943 Phantom as well.
But I really want those covers! I mean, I use that artwork for the Invisible Man as wallpaper on the very device I writing this on!
