“I was ripped from my body… but still, I was alive.”
There’s a darkness to J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter stories, seven of which have been released to date, and artist Dylan Pierpont has brought it front and center for an art series he has appropriately dubbed “Scary Potter.“
The art turns each Harry Potter book into a decidedly dark and sinister horror movie poster, bringing out the scary side of Rowling’s family-friendly stories.
“A while back I was thinking about a few of the stories and characters that had a big influence on me growing up. And while Harry Potter was by far and away the most age appropriate of the group, I couldn’t help but think about how dark some the themes became over the course of the series,” Pierpont explained on his Facebook page. “Scary Potter was born out of a love for every dark and thematic thread woven throughout the HP series.”
