There’s an Official ‘IT’ 8-bit Game You Can Play Right Now!

Pop the balloons to earn points!

The marketing for Andy Muschietti’s IT just keeps getting better and better, as a fun 8-bit game has just been added to the movie’s official website. It’s called IT: Enter The Sewer, and it’s set deep within the bowels of Pennywise’s domain.

The simple game makes you the pilot of Georgie’s paper boat, which you float down the sewer. The object is to pop Pennywise’s red balloons when they appear in front of you, while also avoiding obstacles like a shoe, a missing persons poster, and of course, the killer clown himself.

Start playing over on the official IT website!

In the new adaptation…

A group of young kids face their biggest fears when they seek answers to the disappearance of children in their hometown of Derry, Maine. They square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.

The kids in peril, the Losers’ Club, include Sophia Lillis, Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs and Jeremy Ray Taylor. Javier Botet will play The Leper, and Nicholas Hamilton plays Henry Bowers. The cast also includes Owen Teague, who plays bully Patrick Hocksetter. Bill Skarsgard is our new Pennywise.

The film will be in theaters September 8, 2017.

Please start putting the ring over the a in Skarsgård, even if you have to cut and paste it to do so. The actor’s name isn’t Skarsgard, it’s Skarsgård. Would you want people to call you John Squares?

    • The Drucifer

How did you know my secret identity!?

  • Darkknight2149

    Witness the terror… In pixels!

  • Trav

Interesting, the game is pretty fun. But is the laugh we hear in the background really Pennywise’s laugh from the new movie? I don’t know if I like that.

  • Cappy Tally

It’s cool and all but it’s not truly 8-bit. It does this thing a lot of “retro” games do, which is to mix up different resolutions for different things. Compare the size of the pixels on the paper boat to the size of the pixels making up the balloon strings.

Aside from that one nitpick, it is a pretty cool tie-in for what I expect to be an amazing film.

      Shut up, Cap.

      • Cappy Tally

        Heheheh, I know, I know.

    • Mr Turbine

      Spot on mate!

  • Trav

Honestly, I do wonder why a real “IT” console video game has never been made. It’s a story that has a lot of potential to be turned into a game. Stephen King is not a big fan of video games though.

    • Andy Frolis

A game done in the style of the NES Friday the 13th would be cool, set in Derry locales instead of Camp Crystal Lake.

  • Michael James

And the every 24 hour dick sucking of this movie continues. Tomorrow, “Skarsgård walks his dog. Go watch IT!”

    • yeah seriously this little game wasn’t that great either. I hope the movie is good but im starting to lower my expectations.

    • Trav

So, I take it your not very excited to see this movie?

  • Jada Maes

Gimme a 16-bit platform jumper set in Derry pleeze.
