Director Brandon Christensen’s Still/Born (read Kalyn’s review) sure made an impression at this year’s Overlook Film Festival, nabbing the prestigious Scariest Feature Award. The jurors praised that the film “combines visceral chills and a creepy atmosphere into a perfectly terrifying package.”
Today we can exclusively report that Still/Born, Christensen’s feature debut, has been acquired by Vertical Entertainment. They nabbed the North American rights, with plans to give the horror-thriller a day-and-date theatrical release in the first quarter of 2018.
In this spine tingling supernatural horror, a young mother spirals into madness after losing one of her twins in childbirth. With a nod to the J-Horror sub-genre, she comes to believe her other child is in danger from an evil spirit and will stop at nothing to protect her child.
The film’s cast includes Christie Burke (Twilight: Breaking Dawn, A Single Shot), Jesse Moss (Tucker and Dale Vs Evil, The Uninvited), Rebecca Olson (Kindergarten Cop 2), Sean Rogerson (Grave Encounters) and Michael Ironside (Starship Troopers, Turbo Kid).
Colin Minihan and Brandon Christensen wrote the script.
