Franchise Tradition Continues With ‘Jigsaw’ Blood Drive

ALL types are welcome.

How much blood would you shed… to save a human life? Beginning with the original Saw, Lionsgate’s tie-in blood drives have become synonymous with the franchise, and we’re happy to report that this year’s brand new installment is continuing this most noble of Halloween traditions.

The franchise has to date collected 120,000 pints and saved 360,000 lives!

Over the weekend, Lionsgate’s Tim Palen announced that the forthcoming Jigsaw Blood Drive will be open to EVERYONE; the nurse-themed advertising campaign includes openly gay model Shaun Ross and transgender club diva Amanda Lepore, stressing that all types are welcome to pitch in to this particular drive.

All Types Welcome is a condemnation of blood donation rules set by the Food and Drug Administration that prohibit most gay or bisexual men from giving; before donating, they have to forgo same-sex sexual encounters for at least a year, a contentious precaution resulting from concerns about HIV,” notes the NY Times.

The Jigsaw Blood Drive starts on October 5 in New York and expands to 25 cities in the following weeks. Donating will nab you a free ticket to see Jigsaw in theaters, as an added incentive. Locations can be found on JigsawBloodDrive.com.

Jigsaw arrives in theaters on October 27.
