Ghost Orchid Films Launches Indie Slate With Rob Zabrecky Starring ‘Decay’

We’ve gotten word on a new indie horror film called Decay, which is the inaugural production of Colorado based Ghost Orchid Films. Written and directed by Joey Wartnerchaney the film stars Rob Zabrecky (Room 401, Brothers & Sisters), Lisa Howard (Twilight: Breaking Dawn), Elisha Yaffe (The New Normal, “Southland”), Jackie Hoffman (Garden State, Robots, Kissing Jessica Stein) and Hannah Barron.

Based on a true Midwest horror story, Decay tells the story of Jonathan, a middle-aged groundskeeper at a theme park with a terrible case of OCD. Jonathan comes home to find an unexpected guest in his basement (Katlyn), and through a jarring turn of events, she ends up dead. Scarred form an abusive childhood and inherited distrust of the police, Jonathan chooses not to report the death and instead, invites the girl to dinner. With his new companion, Jonathan has never been happier, until the girl, and his mind, begin to decay.

Decay has just wrapped up shooting and is in post now.

Sevendust Announce New Album ‘Black Out The Sun’: Release Details

Metal band Sevendust have announced a Mar. 26th, 2013 release date for their ninth studio Black Out The Sun, which will come out through their own 7Bros. record label. The first single, “Decay,” will be released to radio and available for download at online retail outlets January 22, 2013.

Guitarist Clint Lowery told Guitar World, “There’s a dark turn to the whole thing…in a lot of ways, it’s your typical Sevendust record.” Guitarist John Connolly described the new music to Revolver as having “…a darker vibe…but there’s still plenty of melody. It fits right in with Animosity, Alpha and our self-titled album. Lots of heavy stuff and some more mellow moody songs as well.”

The first time I saw Sevendust was at the Metallica, Ted Nugent, Kid Rock show in Detroit on Millenium Night. Anyone else at that show? READ MORE
