If you’ve been watching Penny Arcade’s reality series Strip Search, Abby Howard needs no introduction. For those of you haven’t been watching, do that now. Make sure you grab a box of tissues. Whether you use it for tears or other bodily fluids, I leave up to you. Abby Howard is a one of a kind artist with a unique brand of crazy humor, and she loves horror just as much as we do (check out her web comic).
She’s just launched the Kickstarter campaign for her graphic novel, “The Last Halloween”, that follows the misadventures of Mona Merkins, an average ten year old girl, and a gang of dysfunctionally loveable monsters. The project has already surpassed it’s $9000 goal, but there are a slew of wicked backing options including an early look at the graphic novel, a spot on Abby’s “D-list”, original art prints, and plenty more. Have you ever wondered how those wacky Unitologists could continue their zealous fight for rebirth through the Marker when all around them their friends are being transformed into pairs of murderous crazy legs with waggly tentacles protruding from their midsections? I don’t know about you, but as soon as that started happening I would’ve started weighing the pros and cons of converting to a religion with a lower death rate. Today, Penny Arcade took on Dead Space 3 by asking that same question. It’s pretty great. You should most definitely head on over to their site and check it out.
The internet is buzzing this weekend with the talks of a possible console being released by powerhouse Valve. If you read this INTERVIEW Penny Arcade had with Valve’s Gabe Newell, you’ll see that it’s an incredibly small portion of the conversation. I think as we play telephone and the news floats from site to site the story grows more and more. Gabe says “Well, If we have to sell hardware, we will.”
Website THE VERGE has posted new “information” regarding Valve’s top secret console project. If the rumors reign true it looks like the box will basically be a console for computer games. Instead of having to build yourself a top of the line PC to play games you can do it right from your Valve console. I presume the console will be connected right to Steam and your account so you can play all those many games you bought right form your fancy new box. I don’t know if I feel this is true yet, what do you guys think? READ MORE
Prototype 2 is in the works and it doesn’t look like we will be seeing it until 2012. Which sucks, because it means we have to wait to do what the video below shows us.
The devs for Prototype 2 are doing what I love, and think all game devs should do. They are taking all the feedback from critics, fans, etc and using it to make P2 better than the original. That’s why Assassins Creed 2 turned out 100 times better than the 1st game. Because the devs listened. A lot of game developers seem to really have a good thing going, but they seem to miss a few key marks. And surprisingly enough sometimes it takes hundreds of thousands of game fans to point them out. IF you haven’t seen it already head past the break for the games announcement trailer. READ MORE
