Wake up this morning feeling like you needed to know pretty much everything that happens in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D? Well, you’re in luck!

Of course, at this point I’m sure we all expected something along these lines. A reasonable variation of the story from the original film spiced up for modern audiences.

Gunnar Hansen Dances for Opening of ‘Chainsaw 3D’!

When we originally announced the project last year, we explained that Lionsgate’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D (at the time titled Chainsaw 3D) would be a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s classic 1974 slasher Texas Chain Saw Massacre (this is the correct, registered spelling, for the last time).

Gunnar Hansen, who played Leatherface in the original film, was on hand at the Summer Fears in Tatamagouche, NS to present a special showing of Massacre. Cute website Zombies Ate Lauren (take a browse around!) recorded some of the pre-show where Hansen made a HUGE reveal about the opening of 3D, which will slice into theaters October 5, 2012.

[It's a] true sequel to the original ‘Chainsaw,’ ” he told the audience. “The opening of the movie is the last scene of the original movie. So it starts right at the beginning,

He continues, “In fact, they’re using some of the footage of Leatherface – of me – dancing at the beginning. [It's] the opening shot I think.” He also jokes that he’s obviously not playing Leatherface and that it’s not the script he would have written.

John Luessenhop is now filming from a screenplay by Adam Marcus, Debra Sullivan and Kirsten Elms, with Dan Yeager, John Dugan, Bill Moseley, Alexandra Daddario, Sue Rock, Tania Raymonde, Scott Eastwood, Gunnar Hansen, Tobe Hooper, Paul Rae, Keram Malicki-Sánchez, Ritchie Montgomery, Trey Songz, Marilyn Burns, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry and Richard Riehler ALL starring (weeeewwww).

Rapper Trey Songz Beats on Leatherface

Leatherface has found his latest target – Grammy-nominated rapper and R&B artist Trey Songz.

Songz has signed to play one of the leads in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D, the latest reimagining of Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic about a group of teens who run into a family of cannibals in Texas, writes THR.

Songz will play the male lead and the boyfriend of the previously-cast Alexandra Daddario in the Millennium/Nu Image pic, which will be released on October 5, 2012 by Lionsgate. Chainsaw will be Songz’s big screen acting debut — the part allows the budding thespian to be physical, romantic and heroic.

John Luessenhop (Takers) is directing the pic, which was written by Adam Marcus and Debra Sullivan. Kirsten Elms and Luessenhop did polish work on it.

The horror movie shoots later this month in Shreveport, Louisiana. Producers are hoping to not only reboot the franchise (with a new trilogy) but to also to break a group of fresh-faced actors.

Eastwood has been acting mostly in indies, and recently completed the Charles Burmeister-directed Epic, the Jack Heller-directed Enter Nowhere and the Lawrence Roeck-directed Carmel.

Lionsgate will release in theaters October 5.
