The Souls series has what you would call, quite the reputation. No, it isn’t a game that sells Call Of Duty numbers, or blows us out of the water with earth shattering graphics and game play. (No, I’m not saying either of those are bad) The series is known for being brutal, and relentless. In the killing of you throughout the campaign. You can almost look at playing the games like a personal challenge. See how far you can get before you huck your controller through a window or punch a baby. I usually hit the baby first. If you head past the break you can check out the dramatic Global Gamers Day trailer and some screenshots. Dark Souls II is out next year on the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
Killzone Shadowfall was one of the few games announced alongside the Playstation 4. Just like those games, it looks beautiful. If you have played any of the previous Killzone games you know for a fact they have always looked amazing. If didn’t get enough of it from the trailer Adam POSTED recently, we have more incredible visuals past the break.
Yesterday marked a very important day in history. The day the ‘Playstation 4‘ was announced. Pressures on, Microsoft. I attempted to update my PS4 post as the press conference was going on, but not without trouble. My laptop was being a bitch while streaming, and even my desktop was a bit boggy. So my info may not have been spot on. But if you’d like to really get the ins and outs of the Playstation 4, along with pictures of the new Dual Shock Controller, and the new PS4 Eye, head past the break. Unfortunately we still don’t know what the damn thing looks like, but we can speculate.
If you didn’t go wait out in line at midnight last night with the weirdos that hang out in a Game Stop late, you’ve probably quickly snuck in and out of a Best Buy today to pick up Dead Space 3. If you’re new to the series and this is your first Dead Space experience, I suggest you head past the break and check out “The Story So Far” trailer. It gets you up to date on what some of the history of the games and without major spoilers gives you info on the 1st 2 games. It’s also good if you need an all around refresher like me. Head past the break for info on the 1st DLC, screens, and the trailer.
It’s about time we got a real good look at the enemies we would be facing in The Last Of Us. Not the humans, but the creatures. Nothing too out there but still freaky non the less. Head past the break for a whole bunch of screen shots showing off the enemies. The Last Of Us comes out May 7th exclusively on the Playstation 3.
Those who already have Painkiller Hell and Damnation on Steam will be excited for the newly released Medieval Horror DLC. The DLC expands the survival mode, and also introduces some epic boss battles and more. Head past the break to see the full list of new goodies that come in the DLC and it will only run you about 5 dollars. Awesome new screens past the break as well.
I shouldn’t be picky about a Walking Dead game. But do I feel like it should look better? Yeah a little. I mean we’re talking about Activision. They’ve got that Call Of Duty money. But technically if they can bank off of Call Of Duty without making those graphics as amazing as say Battlefield, then why can’t they do it with this new Walking Dead Survival Instinct? Head past the break for some screens and game features.
Dead Pixels you say? No, unfortunately it’s not us. It is however an awesome 8-bit zombie side scroller, previously released on Xbox Live, and now on Steam for download. The game wont break your wallet like most with its 3 dollar price point. What’s truly amazing is that CSR Studios who created the game is only made up of one man. Head past the break for game info and screens.
The Last Crown: Haunting Of Hallowed Isle is a sequel to The Lost Crown – A Ghost-Hunting Adventure a game I didn’t hear of until now. More than likely because both games are PC only. Though based on the screenshots alone, Haunting Of Hallowed Isle definitely has my attention. The Last Crown follows ghost hunters Nigel Danvers and Lucy Reubans and they unravel the many mysteries of the Island of Hallowed Isle. Head past the break for a bunch of screen shots and even descriptions of each one.
Even though Telltale’s episodic take on The Walking Dead has ended, that doesn’t mean you can’t still get your TWD fix. If you’re on the go a lot, or mobile, as they say, you may want to consider dropping $1.99 on The Walking Dead: Assault. It’s a brand new episodic game that follows Rick’s story, as opposed to following a new group of survivors. It actually look pretty good, though I haven’t had the chance to check it out myself. If you’re interested, you can grab it at the iTunes App Store.
Star Trek is coming in early 2013 to the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360 early next year. I’m pretty excited about the game. Ever since recently jumping into the Mass Effect series I’ve gotten an itch for space games. Hopefully Star Trek will scratch it good. The game features the voices of all the main cast from the recent Star Trek reboot. Check out some awesome new screens and art past the break.
Coming December 10th is Halo 4′s first map pack “Crimson“. It will be priced at 800 Microsoft Splatters, although you can buy the Halo 4 map pass for 25 bucks saving you 5 dollars across all 3 map packs. The Crimson Pack includes 3 new maps Harvest, Shatter, and Wreckage. Also included is the new multiplayer mode, Extraction. Want more? Past the break are more screenshots, a trailer, and more info.
You like killing zombies with whatever’s near you at the time? Of course you do. Dead Island: Riptide has gamers like you in mind, because it’s all about bashing unsuspecting zombies right in their stupid, ugly heads — or better yet, you can strap a car battery to a machete and cut it to little, electrified giblets. Riptide promises more of what made the first game great, including loads of weapons and beautiful tropical environments brimming with zombies for you to use those weapons on. There’s also a dynamic weather system that can cause flash floods, adding an element of unpredictability to the gameplay. If this sounds like your bag, I highly recommend checking out this new batch of screenshots, after the jump.
Mass Effect 3′s next DLC entitled Omega, has you joining up with Aria T’Loak, and Nyreen Kandros. Omega has been taken by Cerberus General Oleg Petrovsky, and Aria needs Shepard’s help to take back the black market station. 4 playable missions will be in the DLC. I’m not sure where in the Mass Effect timeline the DLC falls, but I suppose the only way to find out is to buy it! It comes out November 27th on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. Screens past the break.
Into The Dark follows a private investigator (you), who encounters way way more than he bargained for in a New England cabin. Into The Dark won “Most Surprising Game of the Show” at Gamescom this year. Basically you can expect a creepy zombie fps, also filled with puzzles, adventure, and some RPG elements. Check out the trailer and some screens past the break. You can download the game from multiple download portals online as the game is exclusively for the PC.
Jk jk. Though upon looking at the above image that was exactly what I thought. Painkiller Hell & Damnation was released Halloween only on the PC. Those console gamers will have to wait until January 22nd, 2013 for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 releases. Painkiller H&D is a remake of the original Painkiller from 2004. You can play the main campaign 2 player co-op and up to 8 player online multiplayer survival mode. I’ve never played the original but I’m definitely interested in picking this up. Awesome new screens past the break.
Enola is a mystery horror game for the PC. My best guess for a baby factor, Myst meets Amnesia. Which is an awesome combo. In Enola, like in many games you awaken not knowing who and where you are. You search the island you wake up on for clues, solve puzzles, while trying to find out who you are and how to escape. You can buy the game for $2.50 down from the usual 10 dollars for a limited time from GamersGate. The game is not yet finished, it is in Alpha. However purchasing the game in alpha allows you to play it now in its unfinished state, and you get access to all future updates. Screens, info, and video past the break.
Out today for Minecraft on the PC, is a Far Cry 3 inspired map and texture pack you can download for free. If they haven’t already released it for download, you should be able to download it right from the the official Far Cry website. You basically get to experience Minecraft as you would experience Far Cry 3. The map includes over 50 easter eggs, key FC3 locations, and even characters. Sounds like it’ll be pretty awesome, and it’s free. Screens past the break.
Killing Floor is one of the few games that offers kick ass holiday events. Well this Halloween will be no different as we are thrown into one of my worst nightmares. Hillbilly Horrors! It’s running now until the November 6th, and for the duration you can get 75% off Killing Floor and 50% off all DLC for the game. The DLC comes with a completely rednecked out new map, new weapons, achievements, an unlockable character and more. Head past the break for all the goods as well as a bunch of new screens.
If you played the Mass Effect series and know a bit of its lore, the Collectors posed quite a threat in the second game. Well those punk bitches are back in the Retaliation DLC. That’s not all though. This pack is going to be HUGE. One of my favorites is an addition of “hazards” to the regular maps. Lightening, sandstorms, whiteouts and more.
New weapons, new class kits, new upgrades, some of the enemy factions will be getting new allies to fight against you. This DLC is really going to change the mulitplayer up. You only have to wait until October 9th to get it. Though waiting until Tuesday sucks because there goes your week. You can download it October 9th on the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360 for free. Check out a trailer and some screen shots and all the details past the break.
We saw the teaser. We’ve been patiently waiting for the Zombies Mode trailer. Past the break you can check it out, and it does not disappoint. What I’m really hoping for eventually is another star studded cast to fight the hordes. I’m also waiting for Treyarch to DO A STANDALONE ZOMBIE GAME. I know they’ve got it in them. But I suppose as long as they are chained to the Call Of Duty franchise they may never have the time to fit that in. Check out the awesome trailer past the break, pre-order the game to get the Nuketown Zombies map.
If only several months back I had known BioWare would be releasing a Mass Effect Trilogy I maybe would have held off on going through the series. Regardless, coming November 6th for $60 bucks you can get all 3 Mass Effect titles in one neat little package. There is no word on whether any of the DLC will be included, but at this point I’m going to guess that it’s not. Past the break for screen shots.
I’m not sure if any of you remember Zombie Driver. I posted about it so long ago I’m not sure if I even had pubes. Ok, well maybe not that long ago. The easiest way to sum up Zombie Driver is think original Grand Theft Auto. Except you drive around in a totally modded kick ass car destroying zombies. Previously released on the PC, but now downloadable on the Xbox Live Arcade. You can pick it up for 800 Splattered Microsoft Zombies. Check out a trailer past the breaks, and more screenshots.
Over 2 years ago I introduced you all to Afterfall: Insanity. We hadn’t really heard much up after that. The game came out almost a year ago to very mediocre scores. The newest version of the game is supposed to be quite a step up from its initial release. Adam also brought it back to us thanks to Steam’s Project Greenlight. I played a demo quite a while back and honestly I was quite bored by it. I’m hoping this updated version can pull it away from it’s 50% Metacritic score. New screens past the break.
