Anchor Bay Dates ‘Shadow People’ For Home Video

Directed by Matthew Arnold, Anchor Bay has dated Shadow People, the lest genre offering from Arclight (Wolf Creek), for home video release on March 19.

‘Shadow People’ is a psychological-thriller that explores the rare medical phenomenon known as SUNDS (Sudden Unexplained Nocturnal Death Syndrome). Millions of people across the globe have had encounters with what they describe as dark, shadowy creatures that visit them at night. Sometimes horrifying, sometimes deadly, these nocturnal intruders have been described as early as man’s first recorded writings. But what are they? And what do they want?

Small town radio personality Charlie Crowe (Dallas Roberts) is thrust into the mystery when a strange caller relates a terrifying experience during Crowe’s late night call-in show. At the same time, CDC Public Health Agent, Sophie Lancombe (Alison Eastwood), is hot on the trail of the cause of the rare medical condition known as SUNDS. Her investigations entwine her with Charlie’s own discoveries and take them both into a dark world and a decades old cover-up about the phenomenon we now call, The Shadow People. Once you open the door to the mystery…you’ll never sleep soundly again.

Anchor Bay To Explore Unexplained Deaths Caused By ‘Shadow People’

Matthew Arnold’s big screen debut Shadow People, starring Dallas Roberts and Alison Eastwood is to scare up audiences across North America, the U.K. and Australia/New Zealand, says THR.

Billed as a supernatural thriller, Arnold’s film is based on true story about a small town radio personality who unravels a conspiracy about encounters with mysterious beings. Such “shadow people” were the cause of hundreds of unexplained deaths in the 1980s in the U.S.

Anchor Bay Films has acquired all rights for North America, U.K. and Australia/New Zealand to the picture in a multi-territory deal struck with sales agent Arclight Films.

‘Shadow People’ Teaser Poster Lurks Online

Recently changing titles, Matthew Arnold’s The Door to Shadow People finally has a slew of stills and now a pretty crappy teaser poster. The image itself is pretty cool, but the font looks like something I would have used back in 1998 – not to mention the incredibly cheesy tagline: “Don’t think about them or they will find you…

Announced last December, Shadow People is inspired by true events concerning a radio talkshow host (played by Dallas Roberts) who’s drawn to exploring paranormal activity by a caller and an unexplained death. Alison Eastwood will play a CDC investigator.

A1 Media Distribution released the below trailer for Anthony Fankhauser’s Shadow People, which stars the Breakfast Club‘s Judd Nelson, Danielle De Luca and Christian Grantt.

The film looks terrible and rocks the hilarious tagline: “A Shadow Monster kills the townspeople.” Oh do they now?

Sylvain, an engineer come vigilante inventor, has constructed a device. It is close to functional, but something isn’t right. His wife, Mary Anne, is running out of patience.
