Shannon and Swift are taking the project in a new direction. It is now described as an action horror pic set in a small-town desert wasteland gripped by drugs and gangs, with plot details still being hashed out.
Created, written, illustrated, and lettered by the brilliant Ted McKeever, Miniature Jesus #1 offers obscure perceptions of reality infused with a very special mix of raw sincerity and dark humor. The series follows a recovering alcoholic named Chomsky whose world is in a state of constant change due to the figurative and literal demons in his life. Image’s Shadowline imprint has begun teasing the new series Five Weapons from “Bomb Queen’s” Jimmie Robinson. The teasers are very reminiscent of “Morning Glories” and definitely have our attention. Shadowline’s “Five Weapons” #1 doesn’t drop until February 27th, 2013, but if you are as intrigued as we are please pre-order the first issue from your local comic shop now. Last week we reported a bunch of teaser images for Dirk Manning’s Love Stories About Death, and today, the free webcomic series goes live on the Shadowline website! With twice-weekly updates, these mini stories tell tall tales concerning the relationship between love and death, and the pains that come with both. The first chapter is titled “Countdown to Extinction” and yes, it’s a zombie story. Make sure to check back at Shadowline every Tuesday and Thursday for new pages.
Shadwline Comics has been teasing a brand new series from Dirk Manning that examines devastating tales of love and dying. While not much is known about the project yet, the spooky teaser images (shown below) each wear famous quotes about the mysteries of love and death. The series will be available exclusively at the Shadowline website for free starting on May 15th, with twice-weekly updates. I imagine a fourth teaser will be released in the coming days and I’m willing to bet it bears the quote: “‘Tis better to have loved and lost: Than never to have loved at all”.
