The film centers on an antiques collector who inherits a house from his estranged mother only to discover that she had been living in a shrine devoted to a mysterious cult of angels.

Rodrigo Gudino‘s The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh, stars Aaron Poole and Academy Award winner Vanessa Redgrave, is the epitome of a slow burn movie. Taking place in largely one location, it’s a haunting (literally) tale of a mother and son being divided even in the afterlife.

I recently hopped on the phone with Gudino to talk about the film’s inception, how he found the house it takes place in (which is a character unto itself) and the coup of landing Vanessa Redgrave for the project.

Rodrigo Gudino’s The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh, will hit DVD and digital download on July 30, 2013. The DVD will also feature audio commentary with Director Rodrigo Gudiño, a Making of Featurette, Mercan Dede featurette, poster and photo gallery and The Facts In the Case of Mister Hollow Short Film.

The film stars Aaron Poole (Small Town Murder Songs, Gangster Exchange), with Academy Award winner Vanessa Redgrave, Julian Richings (X-Men 3: The Last Stand, Wrong Turn, Cube), Stephen Eric McIntyre (High Life, Fear X, The Lookout), Genie award winner Charlotte Sullivan (Population 436, Defendor, Edwin Boyd: Citizen Gangster) and cult television icon Mitch Markowitz (“The Hilarious House of Frightenstein”) rounding out the cast.

Bloody Disgusting reader “Jimmy” just send us in the first two images from Rodrigo Gudino’s The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh, his religious horror that will screen as part of Telefilm Canada’s Perspective Canada at Cannes 2012.

First Look At Spooky The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh

Bloody Disgusting has been provided with the first stills from Rodrigo Gudiño’s spooky The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh, which stars Aaron Poole (Circumstances, Small Town Murder Song) and has Marcus Alqueres (300, The Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Adventures of Tintin) supervising the effects for a fully animated monster!

The official YouTube Channel for Rue Morgue has been hosting a series of behind-the-scenes videos from the set of Rodrigo Gudiño’s feature film debut The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh, which stars Aaron Poole in the lead role.

Poole plays Leon Leigh, an antiques collector who inherits a house from his deceased mother only to discover that she had been living in a shrine devoted to a mysterious cult of angels. Rodrigo Gudino, publisher turned award-winning filmmaker announced today that pre-production for his first feature, The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh, has commenced in Toronto. The film has been fast tracked for release in 2012, prior to his highly anticipated Cut Throats Nine remake, which will follow.
