Yet Another Look At Kate Beckinsale Shooting a Gun in Underworld!

Surprise! Sony Screen Gems has released yet another photo of Kate Beckinsale shooting a gun in an upcoming Underworld film. Being that Underworld: Awakening 3D is the fourth in the franchise, I’m guessing this is probably the 600th photo of her shooting guns. Even though I kid, I stared at the photo for a good five minutes. Nom nom.

Directed by Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein, and also starring Stephen Rea, Michael Ealy, Theo James, India Eisley and Charles Dance, Screen Gems will release on january 20, 2012. The latest entry is said to introduce Selene’s hybrid daughter!

The ‘Underworld: Awakening 3D’ US Poster Has An Imaginative Tagline!

UnderworldLand2111211 The Underworld: Awakening 3D US Poster Has An Imaginative Tagline!

Yesterday we had a foreign poster for the film that didn’t exactly reinvent the wheel and today’s stateside poster for Underworld: Awakening 3D falls pretty flat as well.

And that tagline kind of reminds me of a fake movie poster you’d see on the side of a bus in a movie. Where’s Lucas Lee?

[Set Visit] Selene Comes Full Circle in ‘Underworld: Awakening 3D’!

Scheduled for release on January 20th, Underworld: Awakening is the upcoming fourth entry in the successful action/horror franchise that has so far grossed nearly $300 million worldwide. Shot in 3D and boasting the return of Kate Beckinsale to the role of Selene, the film is being directed by Swedish duo Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein, representing their first outing at the helm of the series.

Back in May I visited the Vancouver set of the film to get a look at some of the action and interview cast and crew including Beckinsale, Marlind & Stein, new cast member Michael Ealy, and visual effects supervisor James McQuaide. In the process I was given a look into the relatively fraught production, which began principal photography without a finished script and was allegedly operating on a rather tight shooting schedule.

Also in the mix will be a discussion of this installment’s new features, including a twelve-foot-tall “uber-lycan”, a half-vampire/half-werewolf girl named Eve, the addition of a “Big Brother”-esque biotech company called Antigen, and perhaps a more ferocious Selene than you’ve ever witnessed before.

‘Underworld: Awakening’ Trailer More of the Same, Yet Slightly Gratifying

It’s official! Sony Screen Gems’ Underworld franchise has been around long enough that the character’s costumes look dated! Welcome to 2003.

Website Movie-List leaked the first trailer for Underworld: Awakening 3D that’s got more werewolf and vampire action, and plenty more of Kate Beckinsale in skintight pleather. Yum. While I’m not a huge fan of the franchise, it looks like more of the same, so I expect it to at least be on par with Rise of the Lycans.

Cast and crew of the latest installment in the Underworld series, subtitled Awakening, were on-hand at Comic-Con this weekend to discuss the new 3D sequel, which is set for release on January 20th next year. The film sees the return of original star Kate Beckinsale – who wasn’t in the last movie for obvious reasons – as the sexy, leather-clad vampire assassin Selene.

The drop-dead gorgeous star, wearing a short black dress that showed off her shapely, impressively toned legs, came by to chat with us briefly to discuss coming back to the franchise sans her Underworld 1 and 2 director (and now husband) Len Wiseman.
