It’s official. Sony’s new motion controls have been unveiled and they’re superior to the Wii’s. How could I say something like this? I’m a Sony fanboy, you declare? Here are the facts: the controllers have less buttons (good for new gamers), chargeable batteries right out of the box, they’re more accurate even when pointed away from the TV, and did I mention they’re wireless? Oh, and they have color changing balls on the tips, and who doesn’t love colorful balls? Colorblind Nazis, that’s who.
But this isn’t a post written by a Sony fanboy (though, should a Sony bigwig read this and decide to toss some Move my way, I’m easy to convince. Very easy. Seriously, I’m an extraordinarily slutty games journalist void of any integrity.) Instead, this is merely a discussion on possible exciting ways the genre could make full use of the Move, Natal, and while we’re on the subject of new tech, we’ll even talk about 3D. Afterwards you can trot on over to the comments section and tell me what I forgot. READ MORE
Alice In Wonderland came out March 2nd for the Nintendo Ds, PC, and Wii. The game is based off Tim Burton’s recently released Alice In Wonderland film. So, take a look at this video below for the Ds version, and some screens and B-Roll past the break.
I know, you thought, there couldn’t be anymore zombie games. Well, you were wrong. For the record this is not “Zombie Wonderland” though the title resides in this game, they are not the same. Zombie Panic In Wonderland is a Wiiware game. It was supposed to be released last year, and honestly I can not find a definite release date. I’ve read quarter 1 or 2 of this year, so we will have to wait and see.
Zombie P In W plays where your character is sort of stuck at the bottom of the screen and yo move left to right and shoot oncoming zombies. Remember Gun Smoke? Well you should, 1. Because it was awesome, and 2. Because it’s kind of like that. READ MORE
Alice In Wonderland is released in just a couple short weeks, and what better to get yourself excited about it than to check out some screen shots. The game is going to be released March 2nd on the Nintendo Ds, PC, and the Nintendo Wii.
The game will be based off the upcoming Tim Burton re-imagining of Alice In Wonderland coming out in theater March 5th. READ MORE
Back again just like the past 2 years, and like always I want to know what YOU thought was the best horror game of 2009. Last year was a good race, and Dead Space narrowly beat out Left 4 Dead for the win. I could post a top 10 of my favorite horror games of last year, but I like it better when you guys do the work for me.
And now for my wonderous disclaimer. The games on this list are that that would reflect anything horror, sci-fi, bloody and or disgusting, gory, thrillerish, creepy, aliens, ghosts, zombies, vampires, plain old really weird stuff, stuff that is outside of “normal”, there are no Mario’s in this list, no Call Of Duty’s, these are the games people cringe at. The games some people are too scared to play. The games parents don’t want their kids playing. The games that we love here on BD.
Head past the break to see the games in the running! READ MORE
The Wii might have been the last system you would think for horror. But as of lately they are taking over. From Silent Hill, to Resident Evils, the abortion known as The Grudge, Cursed Mountain and plenty more. Well from Developers Hudson Entertainment, and Publishers Konami is a game known as Calling. The cover of the box shows the now classic creepy long black haired girl. Which personally I am fucking sick of.
In Calling, players begin by visiting a mysterious “Black Page” website with a simple number counter. Some say it is a bridge to something sinister; the counter indicating the number of people who have died after visiting the page. It is said that people who have visited the site and witness a certain event are drawn into a mysterious space compiled of the memories of the dead – the space between life and death. Someone or something is drawing the living there for a reason, and it is up to the player to discover the horrifying truth. In order to do so, players will use various equipment including flash lights, phones, and other items to navigate and escape the Calling. READ MORE
About 10:30pm. Dark out obviously. Few friends over, roommates home. I tell everyone I’m going to play The Grudge game. They all seem fairly interested and excited to see how it’s going to be. Everyone gathers around the t.v., we turn the lights off to set the mood, and start. The game starts out in an old factory. No story line at all told, you just dive right in.
Read the rest after the break…… READ MORE
So the PS3 slim which was released on September 1st, has already sold upwards of 1 million units across the entire world. Why they would come out with a gigantic over 10 pound monster before making the slim one is beyond me, but apparently it’s working out nicely for them; seeing as they have sone it with all the 3 the Playstation systems.
A friend of mine who works at Game Stop also said they got word down from the higher ups that the Playstation will no longer be known as the Playstation, but the PS. And when talking about it in store, they are no longer allowed to call it Playstation. Which in my opinion is stupid as f*ck. People already shorten it to PS, PS2, PS3, but to basically not allow them to call it the full proper name, is ridiculous. Moving on… READ MORE
ShockTillYouDrop posted tonight, what looks to be a possible Grudge video game for the Wii. You can check out a teaser website for it HERE!
Takashi Shimizu, the director for all the Ju-on films seems to be working on the game. Not much else is known as of now, but I will keep you updated as more info rolls in. READ MORE
Ghostbusters for the Nintendo Ds was obviously going to be a bit different than the console versions, but as you can see from the screens beyond the break, looks like the Wii version will be also. It has a more cartoony look to it. I think it should be really fun wrangling up ghosts with the Wiimote.
Look out for the new Ghostbusters game this June on every system ever made ever.*
*Every system ever made ever does not include systems that no longer have games being made for them. And Macs. READ MORE
Just 2 weeks ago Dead Space was announced for the Wii. Originally it was looking like it was going to be the same game, same storyline but with the physicality of the Wii. But announced today from E.A. that it will be totally different, new story, and new characters.
The game will be a prequel (they’re jumping all over the place with the games, movie, and comic) to the video game, and everything leading up to Issac’s arrival on the Ishimura. They are switching up to 1st person for Extraction. The games story follows a crew trying to escape the infection on the Aegis VII mining colony. It seems you will take on the role of a woman whom the crew must protect for some reason to stay alive as the infection spreads. READ MORE
Bloody Disgusting’s game of the year 2k8 Dead Space is going to be coming out for the Wii sometime later this year. E.A. had an earnings call for the 3rd quarter of 2009 and that’s where that bomb was dropped. And it was promised Dead Space for Wii would be just as creepy and brutal as it was when it came out for the other platforms.
Onechanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers is the sequel to Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad. In the videogame, Aya is out to find the meaning of her IMICHI ancestors, even if it leads to the answer she does not wish for. Players can master the sword to take full advantage of the Wii Remote™ motion controls by slashing, swinging and thrusting into zombie enemy hordes. Play as either sister Aya or Saki in single player or with a friend in Co-Op Mode and utilize each of their unique fighting styles and set of moves . Get too much blood on either sister and be driven into Rage Mode and gain more power and agility to destroy enemies faster and deadlier. Every person met and enemy battled gets the sisters closer to understanding who or what is behind the zombie outbreak and putting an end to it.
Nothing was said, at least yet, at E3 about any new Dead Rising game coming out. Maybe they are keeping it hush hush. However Kotaku has posted today that it looks like the original Dead Rising is coming out for the Wii, at least, in Japan. Famitsu, a weekly video game magazine released in Japan has all the good video game information that we crave, and that’s where they found it. Now how do I sign up…. READ MORE

Looks like they put a lot of thought into the Wii controls for the Wii version of Alone In The Dark. You use the motion controls to drive, fight, put out fires, shoot, reload etc. I’m almost tempted to buy it for the Wii to try them out. READ MORE
Ign posted today that Resident Evil Zero will be coming out for the Wii. Resident Evil 4 did internationally well and they ended up releasing it for the Wii, and that was almost like releasing a whole different game because you got to use the Wiimotes for controlling instead of a regular controller. House Of The Dead games are perfect for the Wii, and so Sega is giving us 2 and 3 in March! It looks like on Amazon you’ll be able to get the pair for just $30.00. Which sounds like a great deal to me. I’m just hoping it will be a smooth transition from the arcade machine and the easy to shoot arcade gun, to the Wii and the Wiimote. We’ll here is something that might ensure your accuaracy for the Wii. Video game accessory company Nyko, you’ve probably seen there products around Best Buy or other electronics stores, have made a gun for your Wii/Wiimote. Wiimote if you haven’t yet figured it out is short for Wii Remote. READ MORE
