The Multidimensional, Limb-Flailing Future of Horror

It’s official. Sony’s new motion controls have been unveiled and they’re superior to the Wii’s. How could I say something like this? I’m a Sony fanboy, you declare? Here are the facts: the controllers have less buttons (good for new gamers), chargeable batteries right out of the box, they’re more accurate even when pointed away from the TV, and did I mention they’re wireless? Oh, and they have color changing balls on the tips, and who doesn’t love colorful balls? Colorblind Nazis, that’s who.

But this isn’t a post written by a Sony fanboy (though, should a Sony bigwig read this and decide to toss some Move my way, I’m easy to convince. Very easy. Seriously, I’m an extraordinarily slutty games journalist void of any integrity.) Instead, this is merely a discussion on possible exciting ways the genre could make full use of the Move, Natal, and while we’re on the subject of new tech, we’ll even talk about 3D. Afterwards you can trot on over to the comments section and tell me what I forgot. READ MORE

Zombie Panic In Wonderland

I know, you thought, there couldn’t be anymore zombie games. Well, you were wrong. For the record this is not “Zombie Wonderland” though the title resides in this game, they are not the same. Zombie Panic In Wonderland is a Wiiware game. It was supposed to be released last year, and honestly I can not find a definite release date. I’ve read quarter 1 or 2 of this year, so we will have to wait and see.

2 Zombie Panic In Wonderland

Zombie P In W plays where your character is sort of stuck at the bottom of the screen and yo move left to right and shoot oncoming zombies. Remember Gun Smoke? Well you should, 1. Because it was awesome, and 2. Because it’s kind of like that. READ MORE

The Best Horror Game Of 2009, Voted By You!

Back again just like the past 2 years, and like always I want to know what YOU thought was the best horror game of 2009. Last year was a good race, and Dead Space narrowly beat out Left 4 Dead for the win. I could post a top 10 of my favorite horror games of last year, but I like it better when you guys do the work for me.

gameof2009 The Best Horror Game Of 2009, Voted By You!

And now for my wonderous disclaimer. The games on this list are that that would reflect anything horror, sci-fi, bloody and or disgusting, gory, thrillerish, creepy, aliens, ghosts, zombies, vampires, plain old really weird stuff, stuff that is outside of “normal”, there are no Mario’s in this list, no Call Of Duty’s, these are the games people cringe at. The games some people are too scared to play. The games parents don’t want their kids playing. The games that we love here on BD.

Head past the break to see the games in the running! READ MORE

The Wii Is Stealing All The Horror Games Lately

The Wii might have been the last system you would think for horror. But as of lately they are taking over. From Silent Hill, to Resident Evils, the abortion known as The Grudge, Cursed Mountain and plenty more. Well from Developers Hudson Entertainment, and Publishers Konami is a game known as Calling. The cover of the box shows the now classic creepy long black haired girl. Which personally I am fucking sick of.

22 The Wii Is Stealing All The Horror Games Lately

In Calling, players begin by visiting a mysterious “Black Page” website with a simple number counter. Some say it is a bridge to something sinister; the counter indicating the number of people who have died after visiting the page. It is said that people who have visited the site and witness a certain event are drawn into a mysterious space compiled of the memories of the dead – the space between life and death. Someone or something is drawing the living there for a reason, and it is up to the player to discover the horrifying truth. In order to do so, players will use various equipment including flash lights, phones, and other items to navigate and escape the Calling. READ MORE

JU-ON: The Grudge Review/Verbal Slaying

About 10:30pm. Dark out obviously. Few friends over, roommates home. I tell everyone I’m going to play The Grudge game. They all seem fairly interested and excited to see how it’s going to be. Everyone gathers around the t.v., we turn the lights off to set the mood, and start. The game starts out in an old factory. No story line at all told, you just dive right in.

Playstation 3 Says Watch Out Wii, And Then Motion Control Punches Nintendo In Their Face

So the PS3 slim which was released on September 1st, has already sold upwards of 1 million units across the entire world. Why they would come out with a gigantic over 10 pound monster before making the slim one is beyond me, but apparently it’s working out nicely for them; seeing as they have sone it with all the 3 the Playstation systems.

tgs02 Playstation 3 Says Watch Out Wii, And Then Motion Control Punches Nintendo In Their Face

A friend of mine who works at Game Stop also said they got word down from the higher ups that the Playstation will no longer be known as the Playstation, but the PS. And when talking about it in store, they are no longer allowed to call it Playstation. Which in my opinion is stupid as f*ck. People already shorten it to PS, PS2, PS3, but to basically not allow them to call it the full proper name, is ridiculous. Moving on… READ MORE

Wii And Nintendo Ds Screens For The New Ghostbusters Game

Ghostbusters for the Nintendo Ds was obviously going to be a bit different than the console versions, but as you can see from the screens beyond the break, looks like the Wii version will be also. It has a more cartoony look to it. I think it should be really fun wrangling up ghosts with the Wiimote.

The game will be a prequel (they’re jumping all over the place with the games, movie, and comic) to the video game, and everything leading up to Issac’s arrival on the Ishimura. They are switching up to 1st person for Extraction. The games story follows a crew trying to escape the infection on the Aegis VII mining colony. It seems you will take on the role of a woman whom the crew must protect for some reason to stay alive as the infection spreads. READ MORE
