Playmobil’s “Real Ghostbusters” Mission Pack Playsets Are Kinda the Greatest
We are absolutely loving what Playmobil has been doing with their Ghostbusters line, which kicked off with a massive collection last year that was based on the original film. We’re talking Stay Puft, the Ecto-1, and even the Firehouse. Then came a wave based on Ghostbusters II, which included an interactive hologram element with each set.
Now, Playmobil has set their sights on the animated series “The Real Ghostbusters,“ the company set to unleash four different “mission pack” playsets this coming April!
The sets include:
Venkman with Helicopter:
Fly to the rescue with Venkman with Helicopter. Styled after his look in the popular cartoon series, “The Real Ghostbusters,” Venkman is equipped with plenty of ghost-busting gear and ready for action. Use the functioning water cannon to spray “slime” at your ghostly target and keep the skies safe from all supernatural activity. Set also includes proton pack, proton wand, ghost trap, and PKE meter for measuring psychokinetic energy.
Stantz with Skybike:
When you need fast ghost-busting action, better call Stantz with Skybike. Equipped with four projectile slime darts, no ghost stands a chance. Use the bike to store all the necessary mission gear, and fold up the side wings for flight mode. Ghostbuster Stantz is styled after his look in the popular cartoon series, “The Real Ghostbusters.” Set also includes proton pack, proton wand, ghost trap, Ecto goggles, and PKE meter for measuring psychokinetic energy.
Spengler with Cage Car:
Ride along with Spengler with Cage Car as he takes on the glowing, fairy ghost. Using the removable “slime” disc shooter and ghostbusting equipment, he is able to take down even the trickiest of ghosts. Fold down the car’s front grill protection for an added shield during ghost-busting missions. Ghostbuster Spengler is styled after his look in the popular cartoon series, “The Real Ghostbusters.” Set also includes proton pack, proton wand, ghost trap, and PKE meter for measuring psychokinetic energy, all of which can be stored in the cage car.
Zeddemore with Aqua Scooter:
Take the ghostbusting action to the water with Zeddemore with Aqua Scooter. Using the functioning slime dart cannons, Zeddemore is able to defeat even the slipperiest of ghosts. Place the ghostly octopus in warm water to watch it change colors, or use the tentacle grips to connect it to different surfaces. For even more fun, the watercraft floats and can be upgraded with an underwater motor (7350 – sold separately). Ghostbuster Zeddemore is styled after his look in the popular cartoon series, “The Real Ghostbusters.” Set also includes proton pack, proton wand, ghost trap, and PKE meter for measuring psychokinetic energy.
Playmobil just sent me a sample of the “Zeddemore with Aqua Scooter” set for review, and it’s easily my favorite of the company’s recent Ghostbusters offerings. Mind you, I’m partial to the versions of the characters from “The Real Ghostbusters,” so the adorable mini-figure of Winston in his baby blue outfit completely won over my heart. As for the Aqua Scooter itself, it’s essentially the Ecto-1 re-imagined as a jet ski, equipped with a ghost trap on back and two cannons that fire green projectiles from either side.
And yes, it actually floats in the water!
As an added bonus, the Winston “mission pack” comes with a rubbery pink octopus, which has a fun interactive element; in hot water, the color drains from the octopus.
Again, look for all four “Real Ghostbusters” playsets in April!

Alice Cooper Joins the “Music Maniacs” Line from McFarlane Toys
When you hear the label “Music Maniacs,” a few names probably come to mind. And we’re willing to bet that one of them is Alice Cooper, who is indeed joining McFarlane’s toy line.
McFarlane Toys has announced that their Music Maniacs: Alice Cooper action figure will launch for pre-orders on March 22, and you can get a first look at the upcoming toy below.
The “Music Maniacs” line is a spinoff of McFarlane’s popular “Movie Maniacs” line, which returned to life last year – though the focus is no longer squarely on horror movies.
Alice Cooper is most definitely a Music Maniac but he’s also a Movie Maniac too. As Luiz H.C. wrote on Bloody Disgusting back in 2017, “Cooper’s love of the horror genre goes far beyond his music, as the artist has been involved with several scary movies as well. From John Carpenter’s Prince of Darkness to Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare, it’s easy to see why the rocker is so iconic in the world of blood, guts, and ghosts. Hell, even Tim Burton’s charming yet lackluster Dark Shadows features an Alice concert as sort of plot point.”
Luiz’s article continued, “However, my favorite of Cooper’s contributions to the world of scary movies was his involvement with the soundtrack for Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives. The main attraction was obviously the hit single He’s Back (The Man From Behind The Mask), which was written as a catchy homage to the hockey-mask-wearing killer.”
