“The Walking Dead” is Going to Extreme Lengths to Avoid Spoilers For That Finale Death

The topic of “The Walking Dead” and the season six finale is still one of hot debate amongst many people. Theories are still popping up left and right as to who gets the business end of Negan’s bat “Lucille”, even though the showrunners have made it very clear that no one knows who the deceased is going to be, not even the cast and crew.

To really make sure no one can say who got axed (batted?), the filmmakers have apparently shot not one, not two, but 11 death scenes, one for each of the characters that were kneeling in front of Negan.

So, to clarify, that means that Carl (Chandler Riggs), Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Michonne (Danai Gurira), Eugene (Josh McDermitt), Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green), Daryl (Norman Reedus), Arron (Ross Marquand), Rosita (Christian Serratos), Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Glenn (Steven Yeun) have all filmed their own death scene at the hands of Negan, according to THR. One of these scenes will then be chosen to open the show’s 7th season, which will be airing this fall.

AMC is really making sure that no one knows what’s coming until the actual premiere date, so my recommendation is to not even worry about it. If you’ve read the comics, you know who dies there and how the story unfolded from that point onwards. But we’ve also seen the show deviate pretty strongly from the comics, so it’s all just a guessing game.

Seems like a waste of time when they could have just revealed it in the cliffhanger.

    • But then it wouldn’t have been cliffhanger…

        That’d be the point.

Those 11 death scenes would make a great Blu-ray bonus feature, if they actually exist.

It would be funny if they leaked part of an alternate version with a different death, just to get everyone in an uproar, and then aired the real version this fall.

That’s some Schrödinger’s cat shit right there.

I don’t believe this story, why waste money in filming multiple death scenes all because of possible leaks. If there is someone on set who would leak that information then that same person could easily leak which character is noticeably absent in the episodes following the premiere.

I find it hard to believe that they went through with creating the full FX for each of the 11 actors to have their heads smashed in by Lucille. Especially as notoriously tight on budget as this show has been.

I would think that is mostly because of the amount of extras in that scene. 75 random people getting paid very little don’t care about ruining the show.

  • I don’t understand how this helps hide anything, because they still have to shoot roughly half a season based on only ONE death scene, so it kind of gives it away as soon as they started to work on episode 2. Seems a bit pointless, but neat none the less.

      That was my thought exactly.

Give AMC credit. They would of filmed all 8 episodes 11 times

The golden age of TWD has come and gone. It’s downhill from here. The series finale ruined any built up suspense. Poorly done by AMC.

everybody knows is gonna be glen

  • Mike Grotton

Sure, they filmed 11 scenes … only one actor didn’t come back to work after that. Steven Yuen. RIP Glenn.

  • Kaijudude

I have a feeling it was still Glenn , but they’re just letting us keep hyping it up cause it works for them.

i hope they release all 11 death scenes at some point. it would be interesting to see….i just realized that makes me sound kind of twisted. LOL.

    • MadCows

No. I want to see them as well.

My hope Collector Editon for Season 7 have All 11 Death Scenes for fans

  • llcc1103

TWD should have went to extreme lengths to avoid doing the worst and corniest cliffhangers in tv history. sigh.. what could have been

  • LoveAnimation

So the people that makes the show did not even decide who would die when they made that episode?
Feels kinda stupid to me to make a scene where a character dies without even deciding who that character is going to be first.

If TWD on AMC doesn’t kill Glenn, they have no balls. TWD hasn’t killed off a major character in a long time. If Negan doesn’t kill Glenn it will screw up Maggie’s story. If Glenn doesn’t die, I’m done watching. I already want to quit watching because of the show’s redundancy and lack of respect for the audience.

  • Dimitri Theodosakis

For me liking Worst Sister of alltime Killed Off aka Maggie by Negan

  • Baron Von Marlon

Random news from the TWD camp to keep the hype alive.

I got the to point where I don’t care anymore who dies in the series.
