The original Doom is a popular and beloved game that still receives attention, either via the fact that a brand new title in the series just recently came out OR because there are people keeping the original alive with interesting and exciting mods. If you want to see some incredible ones, check out this playlist from OverTheGun.
A mod that has been brought to my attention is Andrew Hulshult’s remake of the original score, which gives every track a modern bite that is an exciting and vicious reimagining of all the familiar tunes we’ve come to know and love over the years! The mod features several MP3’s and a file that I guess incorporates them into the game instead of the original music, so you can have a fresh soundtrack with all those blocky visuals and semi 3D sprite action!
