We’re Launching a Bloody-Disgusting Twitch Channel!

Published

on

A few years back, Adam asked if there would be interest in Bloody-Disgusting having a Twitch channel, to which there was an enthusiastic response! Now, we’re ready to kick things off and we’re going to be taking our Bloody-Disgusting Twitch channel live on Saturday, September 17th!

Now, I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the host of our Twitch channel, Mr. Bill Frye. Bill has been a very good friend of mine for over a decade and his love of horror and video games has been there his entire life. I’m 100% confident that you’re all going to have a blast watching him play through one horror game after another and engaging with him as well as everyone else who joins the Twitch stream. Give him a follow on Twitter so you can start chatting games!

As mentioned above, the first stream will take place on Saturday, September 17th from 1pm to 7pm EST. After that, we’ll have a regular schedule created for you to follow along. It won’t be every day but there will be a few streams each week!

Also, rather than Bill picking a game to kick things off, we wanted to hear your voices and thoughts. So we’ve created the below poll which gives you 10 different video games that you think Bill should start us off with! Head on down and make your choice!

Here’s where things get fun! During the stream, there will be random giveaways for some awesome prizes! All you’ll have to do is be present during the stream and participate at certain times and you’ll be entered to win. That’s it!

More news about the stream will be coming before the launch date, so keep your eyes peeled!

Legendary Grimdark ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Artist John Blanche Has Passed Away at 78

In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war, but it was a cheerful illustrator from England who helped to define the terrifying war-torn imagery that inspired what we now know as Grimdark (a hybrid genre combining horror with sci-fi/fantasy).

Unfortunately for fans of Warhammer 40,000, Trench Crusade and countless other sources of Grimdark thrills, veteran artist John Blanche passed away this week after struggling with health issues for the past few years.

While the artist retired back in 2023, he leaves us with an enormous legacy of iconic artwork that continues to inspire gamers and storytellers around the world to this very day.

The news is especially gloomy as it was only last year that Daniel Lowman and Napoleon Dynamite himself Jon Heder released The Grim & the Dark: The Search for John Blanche, a documentary following Heder’s exploration of the Grimdark genre culminating in a heartwarming encounter with Blanche in his own home.

Below is one of my favorite pieces by Blanche, his highly influential depiction of Warhammer 40k’s God-Emperor of Mankind on his Golden Throne.

We send our deepest condolences to John Blanche’s family, friends, and fans.
