“Fear the Walking Dead” Trailer Shambles In! #SDCC

Fear the Walking Dead

Earlier today AMC released the trailer for “The Walking Dead’s” upcoming sixth season. And it was insane.

Now, we have our first full look at the new spinoff, “Fear the Walking Dead,” which just premiered at the San Diego Comic-Con!

In the trailer we see our first infection, the boy who reports it, and the city who tries to hide it. Social media brings it to National attention, and shit gets crazy from there. I love how populated the streets of Los Angeles look, giving it a very realistic aesthetic that “The Walking Dead” is missing. While “Walking Dead” may be comic book-esque, I expect “Fear the Walking Dead” to be more along the lines of World War Z. And damn does it look crazy. I can’t wait for the season premiere on August 23rd!

‘Fear the Walking Dead’ takes us back to the beginning of the zombie apocalypse – a time when the world was changing rapidly for reasons unknown, before anyone understood exactly what was happening, when life as everyone knew it was upended and altered in ways no one could have ever imagined.

“Fear the Walking Dead” stars Kim Dickens (Gone Girl, “Sons of Anarchy”) as Madison, Cliff Curtis (“Missing,” “Gang Related”) as Travis, Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) as Nick and Alycia Debnam-Carey (Into the Storm) as Alicia. Also joining the cast as series regulars are Elizabeth Rodriguez (“Orange is the New Black”) as Liza and Mercedes Mason (Quarantine 2: Terminal) as Ofelia.

The show’s first season will consist of six one-hour episodes. The second season will air in 2016.

    Shit this looks amazing!

  • J Jett

HELL FUCKING YES!! this looks so awesome!

  • Looks way better than The Walking Dead, but that ain’t saying much

  • Mr. Dry

HOLY SHIT! This looks excellent, even better than season six. I didn’t expect it to be so fucking good. Shit!

    • Mr. Dry

      too much emotion, sorry guys.

      • J Jett

Mr. Dry, no apology necessary! i am just as excited for this show too! 🙂

  • Khy

Whoa this looks different, which is a GOOD thing. Only thing is I still think it would’ve been best as a miniseries or something and not a full on series considering we sorta know how it ends. But oh well, I might give it a watch. I’ve stopped watching The Walking Dead after season 3, haven’t really bothered to catch up.

    • Eastman420

Seasons 4-5 were the best seasons!! Lol sucks for you

  • Richter Belmont

Finally a trailer! And it’s excellent! This looks more appealing than the regular show. As long as the writers don’t drag out storylines like they do on TWD, I will be a very happy camper.

On top of that, Alicia Debnam-Carey will be back as Lexa on The 100 (Best show on CW), so she’ll be allowed to be on both shows! Wonderful news all around today!

  • ThunderDragoon

This actually looks more realistic than The Walking Dead, if that makes sense. I really love that it takes place during the beginning and not when the world has already gone to hell lol.

  • REC03

looks surprisingly intense and creepy. i just pray they have different writers than the incompetent ones who work for TWD.

    • macguffin54

Incompetent? Do you know what that word means? Because the writers are far from it. I don’t love the recent pacing of the show but that is far from incompetent. I’d like to see you try to write an episode that is even remotely close in quality and competency.

      • REC03

this is the worst argument you can ever here. just because im not a writer doesn’t mean you can’t critique the writing of a show. if you go to a restaurant can you not dislike the food if you are not a chef? the show has its moments but overall pacing/characters are consistently poor and many people think so.

  • Wojo’sCure4Humanity

This looks so much better then The Walking Dead….Here’s hoping it lives up to the trailer.

  • Matt Sreboth

I think i was more excited to hear a Chelsea Wolfe song in this trailer!
If the creators were cool enough to do that, count me in.

  • Michael Mc Carthy

Looks like a mix between Diary and the Dead and World War Z thought probably more the former than the latter minus the annoying college students.

  • ChasingTheGhost

I gave up on The Walking Dead but this looks so much better.

    • Here is Subzero Now Plain 0

I gave up on it too, and this was after being incredibly excited for the show when it first aired. There’s something about the show that feels deflated. I hope this brings a different approach.

  • CipoiCipopoi

i dont find any zombie base film/tv series fascinating……

    • macguffin54

Who cares? (And it’s an awkward word choice to use “fascinating”, which is an “extreme/superlative word, and auggests that you could still like or be interested in zombie movies/TV shows.)

  • macguffin54

I was hoping this show would fill the void between waiting for new episodes of TWD (6 months of TWD, 6 months of this new show with the terrible, generic name). But they wait sooo long to put this out by the time it airs it’s going to run only about a month or two before TWD, which may have been the point, but kind of sucks. I hope the next seasons of the shows are spread out so we have zombies year round!

  • Leebo

Dear God, do we have to put up with the trailer for AMY every single damn trailer?

  • Alanmac

Looks great! I like the mass chaos. Is there any way we could possibly stop the annoying ass Sprite ads? Jeez. I feel dumber having had to listen to it.
