I did something out of my comfort zone, and it’s all because of Chris Eggertsen over at Hitfix.
As many of you long-time readers know, Chris used to write for Bloody Disgusting, and remains a close friend of mine. He just launched “Nightmare Fuel,” a new series on Hitfix where he discusses horror with someone new each week.
He invited me to take part on his second episode, and while I don’t usually put myself out there, I’m really glad I did…
We talked a lot about the success of The Witch, what it means for independent cinema, as well as the film’s backlash. I like spitball-conversations like this because it inspires fresh thinking; for example, we talked a bit about how The Witch gives fans a sense of ownership (I explain in depth). I also discovered why I hate Avatar so much.
There’s also a small bit of inside info on Hellraiser, although the bulk of the conversation was Chris and I talking about Pinhead and our own person hopes for the upcoming sequel.
