Yes, that’s totally Cujo.
We’ve already seen footage in the various trailers and TV spots for The Dark Tower that reveals connections to IT and The Shining, and director Nikolaj Arcel teased just last week that Christine would be making an appearance in the film. Now, those Easter eggs and tons more are on full display in a new teaser that comes courtesy of EW!
The 30-second teaser highlights literally all of the Stephen King homages that’ll be found in next month’s movie, so we urge you to avoid the video if you’d prefer to try and discover these for yourself.
Other King works paid tribute to in The Dark Tower include Misery, 1408, The Shawshank Redemption and Mr. Mercedes. Find the video and screen-grabs below!
The film is not a direct adaptation of any of the books in the series from author Stephen King but rather a “canon continuation” of the story presented in the novels.
The last Gunslinger, Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), has been locked in an eternal battle with Walter O’Dim, also known as the Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey), determined to prevent him from toppling the Dark Tower, which holds the universe together. With the fate of the worlds at stake, good and evil will collide in the ultimate battle.
Fran Kranz, Jackie Earle Haley, Abbey Lee, and Kathryn Winnick also star.
The Dark Tower was directed by Nikolaj Arcel and produced by Akiva Goldman, Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, and Erica Hughes.
Look for it on August 4, 2017.
