After Paul Verhoeven directed RoboCop and Total Recall, he got behind the camera for the criminally underrated Starship Troopers, the 1997 sci-fi action film in which humans in a fascistic, militaristic future do battle with giant alien bugs in a fight for survival.
Behind the creation of the alien bugs is studioADI, who have done incredible work ranging from “The X-Files” to Alien3, Alien vs Predator, Independence Day, Wolf, The Thing (2011), Tremors and many, many more.
To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Starship Troopers, studioADI dug deep into their video archive to uncover never-before-seen footage of the FX house creating the warrior bug, from sculpture to paint to animatronics testing!
