Some will succumb to the nightmare. Others will finally wake up.
Amazon just released the official trailer for Luca Guadagnino’s hotly-anticipated Suspiria remake, which will hit theaters this coming November. Unfortunately, it’s not the same footage that was shown off at CinemaCon back in April, which was described by attendees as being “very gruesome” and downright “hard to watch.”
It is, however, a haunting and eerie first look at Guadagnino’s fresh take on Dario Argento’s ’70s classic, playing out like a nightmare that we cannot wait to dive into.
What’s perhaps most interesting is that the teaser is almost entirely free of bright, bold colors, which Argento’s classic absolutely reveled in. It’s clear that Guadagnino’s vision is not to copy what Argento so brilliantly did all those years ago but rather present his own take on the material, which is always a good sign for a remake. So far, it feels both fresh and retro.
Helena Markos will return to theaters on November 2….
In Suspiria, which stars Dakota Johnson as Susie Bannion, “As a darkness builds at the center of a world-renown dance company, its artistic director (Swinton), a young American new to the troupe (Johnson), and a grieving psychotherapist (Ebersdorf) become entangled in a bloody, sighing nightmare.”
The cast also includes Chloe Grace-Moretz, Tilda Swinton, Mia Goth, Sylvie Testud, Angela Winkler, Małgosia Bela and Lutz Ebersdorf.
Radiohead’s Thom Yorke composed the score. David Kajganich wrote the film, co-financed by Amazon Studios and K Period Media.

Rated “R” ‘The Little Mermaid’ Horror Movie Coming Soon; Watch the Trailer
Following in the wake of Winnie the Pooh and Mickey Mouse getting their own horror movies, Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid is the next to get the twisted treatment.
Originally published in 1837, the original tale of The Little Mermaid is now in the public domain, and MSR Media International presents their own horror version of the tale this year.
The Little Mermaid is being distributed by Grindstone Entertainment Group, and the film has officially been rated “R” this week for “Language, some violence and brief nudity.”
In the film from director Leigh Scott, “Dr. Eric Prince, an archaeologist, makes a dramatic discovery on a small Caribbean island—proof of an ancient, advanced prehistoric society. While his dig is in progress, he meets the mysterious and beautiful Aurora Bey and falls in love. Her arrival coincides with several mermaid sightings and strange disappearances.
“When Eric’s friend and mentor, Dr. Ashley, arrives on the island, Ashley uncovers the true identity of Aurora and the dangers of the hidden evil inside Eric’s dig site. Will Eric heed his friend’s advice, or will he be blinded by love and the power of the siren, allowing the world to fall to the forces of evil?”
Lydia Helen, Mike Markoff and Jeff Denton star in The Little Mermaid.
