PvP Hide-And-Seek Title ‘Midnight Ghost Hunt’ Exits Early Access on March 21 [Trailer]

Two years after launching into Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store, Coffee Stain Publishing and developer Vaulted Sky Games have announced that their four-on-four hide-and-seek game Midnight Ghost Hunt will be exiting the service and launching in full on March 21. The 1.0 release will see all ten of the game’s maps get a revamp graphically and from a gameplay standpoint, as well as new bot AI, new cosmetic updates/changes and more.

“We are beyond excited to finally bring Midnight Ghost Hunt out of Early Access into the hands of our players,” said Sam Malone, Vaulted Sky Games creator and lead developer. “This two-year Early Access period has given us a fantastic opportunity to really listen to everyone’s comments and opinions and make some great changes. We’re now super proud of where we have the game for its 1.0 launch.”

As mentioned, all ten of the game’s maps have been given a graphical facelift with new designs, new layouts, and new lighting. The maps have also been tweaked with new strategic hiding spots and improved gameplay flow.

The maps aren’t the only thing that have received a graphical boost, as everything from the ghosts themselves to the weapon FX to the interior of your van have received some TLC.

It’s not all looks, mind you. Both the Hunter and Ghost bots have received a “MAJOR upgrade” in their AI, which will employ “improved strategies and navigation”. You can now direct your bots to wield specific weapons or perks, or simply have them follow your lead. They also now have 3 difficultly levels for you to choose from (easy, normal, hard), or leave them on auto to adjust on the fly.

For those that need a refresher, Midnight Ghost Hunt sees a a group of four Ghost Hunters are assigned to clear out a series of haunted locations a la Ghostbusters. Countering them is a group of four players who play as the Ghosts. The Hunters have their ghostbusting equipment at their disposal, while those who play as the Ghosts have the ability to hide inside pieces of furniture to escape being caught. The Ghosts can then go on the offensive with a telekinetic bombardment, aka throwing stuff at the Hunters.

Lara Croft From ‘Tomb Raider’ Joins ‘Dead by Daylight’ on July 16

Published

Lara Croft has normally tip-toed the horror line in the Tomb Raider series, but now she’s going all in as the newest Survivor for Dead by Daylight. Lara will be joining The Fog on July 16, with a Public Test Build currently happening on Steam.

The story for this latest DLC has Lara Croft trapped in the bleak Realm of the Entity, stripped of her bow and trusty pistols. She must now use her survival skills, bravery and tenacity in order to escape. Those three qualities are manifested in her 3 unique Perks that will tip the scales in her favor.

Finesse activates while you are healthy, with your fast vaults 20% faster. This perk does have a cooldown after performing a fast vault, which is reduced per level. Hardened activates after you unlock a chest and cleanse or bless a totem. Anytime you would scream, you now reveal the Killer’s aura instead. Lastly is Specialist, where each time you open or rummage through a chest, you gain 1 token. When you do a great skill check on a generator, all tokens are consumed, reducing the maximum required generator progress.

The update (for which you can check out the notes here) will also have various gameplay tweaks to other perks, updates for certain Killers, as well as the usual bug fixes.

Dead by Daylight: Tomb Raider will be available for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch.

In the meantime, you can check out the latest crossover for Dead by Daylight with Dungeons & Dragons.
