‘Darkest Dungeon II’ Arrives July 15 on PlayStation Consoles [Trailer]

A year after its initial release on PC, Red Hook Studios will finally be bringing Darkest Dungeon II to the PlayStation. The base game, as well as the “The Binding Blade” DLC and the Oblivion bundle which contains the base game and DLC – will be available as cross-buy across PlayStation 4 and 5 on July 15th. Pre-orders are now available.

“We have been very eager to bring Darkest Dungeon II to PlayStation players,” said Tyler Sigman, Design Director for Red Hook Studios. “The game feels great with DualSense Controller–we’ve been able to add touches like feeling the heartbeat of a hero on death’s door, or the rumble of the stagecoach’s wheels as it hits a trap. [The original] Darkest Dungeon was fortunate to find a strong community on PlayStation and we hope the same proves true with the sequel.”

As mentioned, in addition to the base game (which we reviewed here), “The Blinding Blade” DLC will also be available on PlayStation. The expansion sees players face off against The Warlord, a new roaming mini-boss to encounter on your journey to the Mountain in Darkest Dungeon II. The DLC also adds two new playable heroes in The Duelist and The Crusader, complete with a special unlock quest for the Crusader, unique trinkets, signature items and fully voiced backstories, including playable flashback encounters.

Darkest Dungeon II is available now on the Epic Games Store and Steam.

Lara Croft From ‘Tomb Raider’ Joins ‘Dead by Daylight’ on July 16

Published

Lara Croft has normally tip-toed the horror line in the Tomb Raider series, but now she’s going all in as the newest Survivor for Dead by Daylight. Lara will be joining The Fog on July 16, with a Public Test Build currently happening on Steam.

The story for this latest DLC has Lara Croft trapped in the bleak Realm of the Entity, stripped of her bow and trusty pistols. She must now use her survival skills, bravery and tenacity in order to escape. Those three qualities are manifested in her 3 unique Perks that will tip the scales in her favor.

Finesse activates while you are healthy, with your fast vaults 20% faster. This perk does have a cooldown after performing a fast vault, which is reduced per level. Hardened activates after you unlock a chest and cleanse or bless a totem. Anytime you would scream, you now reveal the Killer’s aura instead. Lastly is Specialist, where each time you open or rummage through a chest, you gain 1 token. When you do a great skill check on a generator, all tokens are consumed, reducing the maximum required generator progress.

The update (for which you can check out the notes here) will also have various gameplay tweaks to other perks, updates for certain Killers, as well as the usual bug fixes.

Dead by Daylight: Tomb Raider will be available for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch.

In the meantime, you can check out the latest crossover for Dead by Daylight with Dungeons & Dragons.
