‘Blood Feast’ – Ultra Nasty Remake of Herschell Gordon Lewis Classic Now on SCREAMBOX!
SCREAMBOX has all sorts of goodies hitting the streaming service this month, including the newly-released Pet Sematary-inspired Lizzie Lazarus, not to mention several Giallo movies. They join last month’s release of the incredibly timely Street Trash remake and the nightmarish exorcism drama Deus Irae.
Gorehounds will eat well with SCREAMBOX’s double helping of Blood Feast. Herschell Gordon Lewis’s landmark splatter film drops on January 31 while Marcel Walz‘s recent remake starring stars Robert Rusler (A Nightmare on Elm Street 2) and Caroline Williams (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2) is now streaming!
The new take on 1963’s Blood Feast (read our review) is dripping with copious amounts of the red stuff; our own Chris Coffel called it “a delicious splatterfest that will have horror hounds going back for seconds.”
In the film…
“Fuad Ramses and his family have moved from the United States to France, where they run an American diner. Since business is not going too well, Fuad also works night shifts in a museum of ancient Egyptian culture. During these long, lonely nights he is repeatedly drawn to a statue representing the seductive ancient goddess Ishtar. He becomes more and more allured by the goddess as she speaks to him in visions. Eventually, he succumbs to her deadly charms.
“After this pivotal night, Fuad begins a new life, in which murder and cannibalism become his daily bread. He starts to prepare a ritual feast to honor his new mistress, a lavish affair dripping with blood, organs, and intestines of human victims. As butchered bodies are heaped upon the Altar of Ishtar, Fuad slowly slips further into madness until he is no more than the goddess’ puppet; and she thirsts for the blood of Fuad’s wife and daughter too…”
The official remake features an impressive cast – including an appearance by Herschell Gordon Lewis, filmed shortly before his death. Other cast members include Robert Rusler (A Nightmare on Elm Street 2) and Sophie Monk (The Hills Run Red).

Intense New ‘The Dog Stars’ Trailer Warns to Fear the Survivors Post-Apocalypse
The new trailer for epic survival thriller The Dog Stars warns to fear the survivors of the apocalypse.
Jacob Elordi (Frankenstein), Josh Brolin (Weapons), and Margaret Qualley (The Substance) try to maintain their humanity in the intense new trailer for Ridley Scott‘s survivor thriller, releasing in theaters on August 28, 2026.
The film is “set in a world where survival is instinct, but humanity is a choice. Scott tells the story of Hig, a young pilot who, together with a military survivalist, Bangley, has carved out an efficient but isolated homestead in a brutal post-apocalyptic world until a mysterious radio transmission spurs Hig to venture into the unknown in search of the hope and humanity he still believes exists.”
Guy Pearce, Benedict Wong, and Allison Janney also star.
The film is based on Peter Heller’s bestselling novel and written by Mark L. Smith (Overlord, The Revenant) and produced by Ridley Scott, Michael Pruss, Mark L. Smith, and Cliff Roberts.
Check out the new trailer and poster below, which emphasize the thrills in the upcoming survival thriller. But it’s one that’s also filled with hope.
“I think people will be surprised and engaged, actually. I would say, hmm… charmed as well,” Scott says of the film. “Although, there is some violence.”
