Tech-Noir Survival Horror Game ‘Hollowbody’ Comes to PS5, Xbox June 5 [Trailer]

Published

on

Released on Steam back in 2024, Headware Games’ tech-noir survival horror title Hollowbody is making the jump to consoles. The game will launch digitally for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on June 5. PlayStation pre-orders will begin tomorrow via the PS Store, where PlayStation Plus members can take advantage of a 15% discount. Xbox pre-orders open on May 22 and will also include a 15% discount.

The console versions of Hollowbody come feature-complete, with all post-launch updates added to the original Steam release. This includes new optional puzzles, locations and lore, numerous quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes and tweaks, third-person camera mode and localisations.

Set in the near-future, amongst the urban decay of a long abandoned British city, Hollowbody is described as a dystopian love letter to Survival Horror. Grimy, detailed environments “exude an oppressive, cloying atmosphere,” while its tense gameplay “effortlessly evokes classics of the genre.” It’s wrapped up in a mysterious and disturbing tech-noir narrative that complements the experience across the game’s 4-5 hour playtime.

Players take control of Mica, an unlicensed black market shipper who will stop at nothing to find her missing partner. After crashing deep within the exclusion zone, she is left alone and stranded with limited resources at her disposal. She will have to push her way through the zone, solve environmental puzzles, manage resources and fight for her life as she tries to find a way to escape beyond the wall.

Check out Aaron’s review of the initial Steam release of Hollowbody while you wait.
