GSC Game World continues to increase the buzz for the upcoming Cost of Hope expansion for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, releasing a brand new trailer offering a glimpse of brand-new locations to explore, alongside familiar locations that have been fully reimagined for newcomers and Heart of Chornobyl veterans alike.

The trailer also highlights the expansion emotional journey, filled with unsettling encounters, complex personalities, and a prevalent sense of decay, all set within the iconic S.T.A.L.K.E.R. atmosphere.

Cost of Hope explores the long-running conflict within the Zone between two iconic factions. Zulu, a series veteran from Duty, and Mavka, a member of Freedom, are set to uncover new and terrifying mysteries of the Zone under increasingly tense circumstances. Caught in a rapidly unfolding chapter of an age-old confrontation, Skif — the protagonist controlled by the player — must follow previously unexplored paths and face dangers beyond comprehension, choosing sides and once again shaping the future of Chornobyl through his decisions.

And for those lore junkies, GSC Game World has released a new blog post on the official S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 website. The post in question provides insight into what players can expect on their journey in Cost of Hope, as well as more about the history and context behind the legendary conflict between Duty and Freedom.

Players can expect dozens of hours of gameplay, exciting exploration, breathtaking mysteries of all sizes, and revelations worthy of the saga’s legacy when S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope launches later this summer for PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG.com, the Xbox Series and PlayStation 5.

Developer Offworld Industries and Knights Peak are still at it with Starship Troopers: Extermination dropping Update 11 for the 16-player co-op FPS, which sports new content additions, performance and optimization improvements as well as bug fixes. Oh, and you can also now take showers.

Yes, the Field Shower is a new buildable structure available for every Build Zone. Once constructed, the Field Shower provides Troopers with access to battlefield sanitation facilities. A shower will extinguish a burning Trooper, as well as provide a method of Health restoration.

Completing the full duration Federation Standardized Shower will also provide Troopers with a combat performance boost. Troopers who have recently showered will move slightly faster, jump higher, climb better, shoot more accurately, and gain additional Morale XP.

The update also introduces a series of rotating Critical Dispatches designed to support the war effort and reward continued service to the Federation. Additionally, every deployment cycle, Troopers will receive a fresh set of Daily Dispatches generated by Fleet Command. Troopers can do one refresh of the missions list per 24-hours. Exterminatation currently has 47 Critical Dispatches in rotation, with more to be added. Successful completion of Daily Missions will grant additional combat experience and contribute toward long-term DSV Service Record milestones.

In addition, the DSV Service Record System has been added to permanently document a Trooper’s military career and recognize exceptional contributions to the war effort. Every confirmed combat action, operational deployment, battlefield specialization, and successful mission contributes toward a growing Service Record reviewed by Federal Command. As Service Record milestones are completed, Troopers will earn Career Experience, advancing their standing within the Mobile Infantry.
