There’s certainly no shortage of horror movies set on/around Christmas, with so many gems to be found within the sub-genre that it’s one of my personal favorites. Gremlins, Silent Night, Deadly Night, Black Christmas, Rare Exports, Christmas Evil and Krampus are all must-watches every December, and the list goes on from there.
Santa’s Slay. Let’s not forget Santa’s Slay.
From Canadian micro-publisher Spectacular Optical and editors Paul Corupe and Kier-La Janisse comes an entire book devoted to the darkside of holiday entertainment, Yuletide Terror: Christmas Horror on Film and Television. The book features a new collection of essays and interviews, along with nearly 200 capsule reviews of Xmas horror films.
The 448-page book, in black & white with a 20-page color section, is now available for pre-order through Spectacular Optical, expected to begin shipping in early December.
