Scholastic has already released three R.L. Stine-penned Goosebumps books this year, most recently last month’s The Ghost of Slappy. And Stine, all these years later, is showing no signs of slowing down, as he’s just revealed that (at least) six more books are on the way!
Stine dropped the news in a fun chat with Darryn King over on Medium.
“I don’t think authors retire,” Stine told King, when he was asked about his prolific career potentially coming to an end at some point. “I think of Robert B. Parker, who just dropped dead on the keyboard. I think that’s the way to go. Anyway, I just signed on to do six more Goosebumps books.”
Stine joked, “Maybe some of them will be posthumous, I don’t know.”
In the meantime, big screen sequel Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween arrives in theaters on October 12. As we learned this week, Jack Black will be reprising the role of R.L. Stine!
