One of my favorite comic characters I would read growing up was Ghost Rider – you know, Johnny Blaze, the stunt motorcyclist, who would transform into the badass biker rocking a flaming skull?
He got so popular that he got his own comic series (the debut had a glow-in-the-dark cover!) that eventually spun off into not one, but two terrible, awful, no-good movies starring Nicolas Cage.
Now, Marvel is bringing the character pack, only this time to the small screen. He’s set to premiere on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” September 20th!
In 2013, Robbie Reyes became Ghost Rider as part of the Marvel NOW! initiative. This is the same character, played by Gabriel Luna, that will appear on “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”
In March 2014, a new Ghost Rider series debuted featuring a new Mexican-American character named Roberto “Robbie” Reyes, taking on the mantle. He drives a black classic muscle car reminiscent of a Dodge Charger instead of a motorcycle and lives in East Los Angeles. The character was debuted in 2013. Robbie Reyes was created by writer/artist Felipe Smith and designed by Felipe Smith and artist Tradd Moore. (Wiki)
Here’s Luna as Reyes with his Charger. What do you guys think?!
