Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios has just released the first teaser poster and trailer for James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the sequel to his smash hit comic adaptation that’s set to blast into theaters on May 5, 2017.
Set to the backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.
Starring this time around are Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan, Kurt Russell, and Sylvester Stallone.
The first film is easily one of the best comic adaptation of all time. It’s exciting to see the writer of Dawn of the Dead and director of SLiTHER directing huge blockbusters. Shit, Gunn got his start in Troma! How friggin’ cool. Let’s celebrate his success…
