Leaked Footage Shows Tom Hardy Transforming into ‘Venom’!
One of the biggest issues with Topher Grace being cast as Eddie Brock in Sam Raimi‘s Spider-Man 3 was that he looked ridiculous as a hulked-out Venom, especially to those who grew up reading the comics. Thankfully, Tom Hardy was cast as the title character in Sony’s Spider-Man spinoff, which is the next R-rated comic venture.
When the first teaser trailer was shared, everyone went into a fervored panic – where the hell was the symbiote known as Venom? Did Zombieland’s Ruben Fleischer make a comic book movie about Eddie Brock riding a motorcycle instead of Venom? There was widespread fear and panic all over social media, which is sort of ridiculous considering it was just a teaser trailer. With that said, it was disappointing and led to more questions than excitement. As a teaser goes, it was a huge letdown.
Thankfully, Sony has responded in epic fashion, sharing their new Venom trailer at CinemaCon. A single shot has leaked and oh boy does it deliver the goods. Those of you who wanted to see Todd McFarlane’s nasty creation come to life, you got it…making times a billion. He looks nasty and I can’t wait to see him in action. In theaters October 5, 2018, Woody Harrelson is rumored to be playing Cletus Kasady, who becomes the vicious symbiote known as Carnage, alongside Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, and Reid Scott.
Written by David Michelinie and drawn by Mark Bagley, as well as Ron Lim and Sam Delarosa, the movie is inspired by “Venom: Lethal Protector”, a six-episode limited series that notably reinvented Venom from a Spider-Man villain to a Marvel Comics anti-hero. In it, Venom moves from New York City to San Francisco after coming to an agreement with his former foe Spider-Man. (IGN)
As for “Planet of the Symbiotes”, another inspiration, Eddie Brock’s relationship is with his symbiote and the influence it has on him is explored. Also written by Michelinie, “Planet of the Symbiotes” follows Venom fighting an army of symbiotes with the help of Spider-Man and Scarlet Spider.

‘Curse of the Where Wolf’ Bites Into August Release With Trio of Werewolf Theatrical Screenings [Exclusive Preview]
Larry Chaney‘s hairy misadventures are continuing in the sequel graphic novel Curse of the Where Wolf from creative team Rob Saucedo, Debora Lancianese, and Jack Morelli, and its author is celebrating with a trio of horror’s greatest werewolf films.
The Curse of the Where Wolf hits shelves on August 7 from Encyclopocalypse Publications.
That coincides with the launch of a theatrical screening event in Houston, Texas, featuring a trio of seminal werewolf flicks turning 45 this year: The Howling on August 7, Wolfen on August 14, and An American Werewolf in London on August 21.
Each screening features a “werewolf in film” presentation as well as a book signing from Where Wolf author and River Oaks Theatre artistic director Rob Saucedo.
In the new graphic novel, “Being a werewolf sucks. Reporter Larry Chaney wanted to be a hero. Instead, he became a werewolf. Now, caught between incredible new powers and a desire to eat everything (and everyone) in sight, Larry must find a cure for his curse. Or die trying.”
“With Where Wolf, I wanted to tell a whodunit set in a furry convention, so the story was pretty contained within a very specific setting and genre. With Curse of the Where Wolf, I wanted to celebrate everything I love about the possibility of comic books. Curse of the Where Wolf is a funny book, in every sense of the phrase, but it’s also an earnest look at a person’s struggle to become a better version of themselves, especially when the alternative is to become a literal monster,” Saucedo says of Curse.
The original graphic novel was previously serialized as the first webcomic hosted on Fangoria before being collected by Encyclopocalypse Publications in 2023 and has already been optioned for film, podcast, and television development ahead of launch by producers James Fino (“The Freak Brothers” for Tubi, “Rick and Morty” for Adult Swim) and Charles Horak (First Date for Magnolia Pictures).
Expect Larry to find himself in even weirder situations in the 362-page full color sequel; Saucedo has provided Bloody Disgusting with exclusive art pages from the upcoming graphic novel that showcase lupine humor.
