Dark Horse Comics has partnered with Netflix for “a multi-year publishing line,” kicking off with a 4-issue “Stranger Things” mini-series that’s headed our way tomorrow. The comics will tell us a story the Netflix series didn’t, based on Will’s unseen journey into the Upside Down.
THR scored the trailer today, along with some insights.
“We had a list of possible story ideas from Netflix, and seeing Will’s side of the events of season one was the concept that jumped out to me the most,” writer Jody Houser told the site. “Getting to explore both the Upside Down and a character we didn’t get to see much of that season sounded like a blast to write, and something that I know I’d want to read as a fan.”
In Issue #1…
“Follow Will Byers into a dimension of decay and destruction where he must use his wits and resolve to dodge the pursuit of the Demogorgon and escape the Upside Down.”
The mini-series kicks off tomorrow, September 26.
