Some very exciting news for comic book readers today, as Joe Hill (NOS4A2, Locke & Key) has announced a new partnership with DC Comics, the all-horror label Hill House Comics!
Hill wrote over on Instagram today, “I’m juiced to be able to finally share what I’ve been busy with here in 2019: Hill House Comics, a new pop-up imprint at DC, where I’m working with some of the best writers and artists in the terror trade to psychologically scar as many comic fans as possible.”
“We’ve got five titles coming in the first wave this fall, plus one back-up feature. First up: BASKETFUL OF HEADS, illustrated by Leomacs and written by your faithful correspondent right here. The first ish features one of my all-time favorite covers, illustrated by the brilliant Reiko Murakami.”
The first of these new monthly comics will debut on October 30 with Basketful of Heads, followed by four other series in subsequent months, including:
- THE DOLLHOUSE FAMILY from Mike Carey (LUCIFER, HELLBLAZER, The Girl with All the Gifts) and Peter Gross (LUCIFER, THE BOOKS OF MAGIC, THE UNWRITTEN)
- THE LOW, LOW WOODS by Carmen Maria Machado (Her Body and Other Parties) and Dani (2000 AD, Coffin Bound, Deep Roots)
- DAPHNE BYRNE by Laura Marks (TV writer and producer, playwright of Bethany) and Kelley Jones (SWAMP THING, DEADMAN, THE SANDMAN)
- PLUNGE by Hill and artist TBD
