Gary Dauberman (IT, The Nun, “Swamp Thing”) has become one of the hottest names in horror, and in the wake of making his directorial debut with Annabelle Comes Home, Dauberman is next unleashing a comic series for Vault Comics. It’s titled The Mall, THR reports today, co-written by Dauberman & Michael Moreci and illustrated by Zak Hartong.
“The post-apocalyptic story is set in a world where survivors holed up in a mall and now, a generation or two later, a society split into tribes rose into uneasy co-existence. In this setting, a man is framed for a leader’s murder and his journey to prove his innocence uncovers more than its share of secrets. Mad Max and Escape from New York are definite influences.”
The four-issue limited series is set to launch on August 28.
