Comic book legend Frank Miller (Sin City, The Dark Knight Returns) has illustrated his first-ever Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cover for the milestone 300th issue.
It’s a full circle moment for the franchise, as TMNT co-creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird have cited Miller and Jack Kirby as inspiration for their creation back in 1984.
A key issue for the future of the TMNT comic series, it kicks off the epic storyline dubbed “The City That Never Dies” from writer Gene Luen Yang and artist Freddie E. Williams II.
Splinter and Tang Shen, the mother of the Turtles, have magically come back to life… but they aren’t the only ones who returned from the land of the dead!
The issue also includes a back-up story from Eastman, writer Tom Waltz, and a roster of classic TMNT artists that celebrates the many eras of the Heroes in a Half-Shell as the time-traveler Renet explores timelines full of familiar faces.
In addition to Miller’s piece, TMNT #300 will feature variant covers by Eastman & Laird, Williams II, J. Scott Campbell, Michael Dooney, Ito, Juan Ferreyra, Stan Sakai, Giuseppe Camuncoli, and Mateus Santolouco.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #300 will be published on July 22. Fans have until June 1 to guarantee their copies by pre-ordering at comic shops.
