‘The Forest’: Gramercy Pictures is Sending Someone to Japan!
Gramercy Pictures wants to send a lucky fan to Japan in support of The Forest, starring “Games of Thrones” fav Natalie Dormer, who ends up at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan where the legendary real-life Aokigahara Forest is the setting of this supernatural thriller.
In The Forest, “A young American woman, Sara (Dormer), journeys there in search of her twin sister, who has mysteriously disappeared. In the company of expatriate Aiden (Kinney), Sara enters the forest having been well warned to ‘stay on the path.’ Determined to discover the truth about her sister’s fate, Sara will have to face the angry and tormented souls of the dead that prey on anyone who dares come near them. These malevolent spirits lying in wait for Sara at every turn will plunge her into a frightening darkness from which she must fight to save herself.”
In theaters January 8th, 2016 via Gramercy Pictures, The Forest is based on an idea by David S. Goyer.

Odeya Rush (Goosebumps) fights her way through an eclectic cast that includes Sasha Lane (Twisters), Elias Kacavas (“Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin”), Ashton Sanders (Moonlight), Zión Moreno (“Gossip Girl”), Benjamin Norris (“Never Have I Ever”), Tyler Alvarez (“American Vandal”), Kirby Johnson (The Possession of Hannah Grace), Ellen Toland, Rosanna Arquette (Pulp Fiction), and Alan Ruck (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off).
Aaron Fisher (Inside the Rain) directs from a script he co-wrote with Kerri Lee Romeo. Uri Singer (White Noise, Experimenter) produces via Passage Pictures.
Gary J. Tunnicliffe (Scream 4, Candyman) handled the film’s special makeup effects.
