Frequently Asked Questions

Click your username/avatar in the header and select My Profile — or, on mobile, tap the menu and select My Profile there.

To add an avatar, click the edit (pencil) icon next to your avatar placeholder and upload an image of your choice.

To remove your avatar and go back to the default placeholder, click the trash icon.

Click the red Edit Profile button. From there you can fill out the info shown on your profile page:

• Display Name
• Bio
• Location
• Social media links
• Website link

Yes — navigate to any film's page and click Set as Favorite. That film's backdrop image will appear as the background at the top of your profile. You can only have one favorite film set at a time; picking a new one replaces the old one.

Two ways:

• Go to My Profile → Lists tab → click + New List.
• From any film page, click Add to List → + New List.

In the popup, give your list a name and confirm.

Visit the film's page, click Add to List, and select the list you want to add it to. To remove the film, click Add to List again and select the same list to take it back off.

On the Lists tab of your profile, click the star next to the list you want to feature. Only one list can be featured at a time — starring a new one un-stars the old one. If nothing is starred, your most recent list is shown instead.

Yes — both options are available on each list from the Lists tab of your profile.

Open the list itself (from the Lists tab of your profile, click into any list you own) and click the pencil icon next to its title. Edit the name and press Enter, or click away to save — press Escape to cancel without saving.

• Add or remove the film from your Watchlist.
• Set as Favorite to have it appear as your profile's background image.
• Mark the film as Watched.
• Rate the film 1 through 5 stars.
• Add it to a list, new or existing.

Visit any user's profile and click Follow. Their activity will start showing up in Your Feed on the Community page, and their profile will appear in your Following list. You can see who follows you back from the Followers/Following links on your own profile.

On any profile, click Report this profile if you come across an inappropriate or offensive username, avatar, or bio.

Scroll to the Discussion section on any film's page and use the box at the top to post a comment. To reply to someone else's comment, click Reply underneath it — replies are grouped under the comment they're responding to, one level deep.

You can edit or delete your own comments at any time, and report anyone else's.

Commenting requires a small amount of community reputation first — new accounts unlock commenting after a bit of activity (rating films, marking films watched, etc.). Abuse of the comments feature will result in a permanent ban.

You'll get a notification when someone follows you, replies to one of your comments, or when we publish a new announcement. The bell icon in the header shows your unread count.

That's our verified badge, reserved for official Bloody Disgusting accounts.

From My Profile → Edit Profile, scroll to the bottom and click Delete Account. This is permanent.
