Varúð – Jeff Ray
I saved my personal favorite for last. What director Jeff Ray did with Sigur Ros‘s “Varúð” is nothing short of incredible. He took the pained, emotional music and crafted a story that showcases the pain and grief that often gets completely overlooked in horror.
Everything in this video is foreshadowed or alluded to. There aren’t any surprises and yet it takes several viewings to understand just how meticulously every scene was crafted.
Also, if you allow it to touch you the way that it touched me, it will stick with you forever. The way that everything builds up is masterful, creating a climax that is tragic and heartbreaking.
