I just watched this the other day and was really entertained and surprised! After all, the whole “found footage” and “possession” genres are really getting played out. However, this one took it in interesting directions, using Alzheimer’s as the foundation and, believe it or not, avoiding the use of a priest and an exorcism ritual.
Also, the characters were far more real and believable. For instance, the cameramen want to back out because of all the weird shit, which is probably the first time I’ve seen that in one of these films. What keeps them around? Money. Yup, good old fashioned greed.
I’ll admit, while I was watching this movie I found myself getting genuinely scared at points. Congratulations to a movie for making me feel that again!
