Hannibal – Brian Reitzell (Invada Records)
When Invada Records announced that they were releasing the full soundtrack to the incredible NBC series Hannibal, I felt damn near giddy with excitement. Composer Brian Reitzell‘s score perfectly mimics the show’s luxury, grace, charm, and class. And yes, it also recalls the insanity, the violence, and the terror.
I don’t know why but I’m convinced that Dr. Hannibal Lecter only listens to music on vinyl when cooking at home. Something about a needle riding along wax seems fitting.
Invada’s 8xLP (!!!) bundle is nothing short of glorious. The attention to detail, the sound quality, the overall feeling is unreal. It’s a marvel of soundtrack releases and the painstaking care is apparent in every aspect. This was their design. (See what I did there?)
If you’re a fan of the show, like I am, this isn’t something you think about, it’s something you jump at the opportunity for.
