Yesterday I pushed the idea that Rob Reiner’s Misery could be one of the scariest movies ever made.
Today I started thinking about Fire In the Sky, an alien abduction horror movie that I personally think contains some of the scariest scenes ever caught on film. In fact, I think it’s safe to say this is the most terrifying alien abduction sequence ever.
Directed by Robert Lieberman, the 1993 film follows an Arizona logger who mysteriously disappears for five days in an alleged encounter with a flying saucer in 1975. It’s said to be a true story, although recent investigators believe this to be a hoax.
No matter, Fire In the Sky sort of reminds me of The Exorcism of Emily Rose, in which the courtroom scenes were awful compared to the sequences with Emily Rose (Jennifer Carpenter). Fire In the Sky isn’t much of a movie when aliens aren’t stalking D.B. Sweeney‘s character. To say it’s one of the scariest movies ever made, eh, but to say it has the scariest scenes ever, I’ll second that.
Watch for yourself…
