The Hacksaw – Saw
I remember seeing this movie three times in theaters on the day that it came out. Yes, I saw it three times in one day. And I paid for all three times. That’s how much I loved this movie.
What makes this weapon so cool and so terrifying is that it’s there from basically the beginning of the film. It’s presence is constantly felt and its purpose is entirely known. It lays there, just waiting to taste blood, sinew, and bone. We as the audience are right there with Dr. Gordon and his fear, his terror, that he will have to use this innocuous tool to lop off his own foot.
It may not be the most visually stunning weapon but goddamn it if it isn’t one of the coolest just for how integral it is to the suspense of the film.
