While it doesn’t necessarily have the visceral punch that Chrissie Watkins’ death had in the opening scene of Jaws, you can tell Spielberg was channeling himself with this opening scene. Jophery’s death is the one that started it all with the Jurassic Park franchise, and it is definitely a memorable death.
